A perfect place for the family to spend an afternoon – play an educational round of mini golf or let the kids frolic in the playground . It’s definitely crowded during the weekends.
#StaffPick Lauren (Education): This is a great place for parents. Why? Kids of a wide age range (around 2 - 12) are so engaged. As a parent, it's a very low key , stress free place to take your kids.
Great for kids! There's a playground area right off the dining area but it costs $5 extra. The best part is the new making space, lots of fun experiments and beginner projects

The New York Hall of Science as well as the Mercury and Gemini capsules and the Atlas and Titan rockets were all built on the site of the former United States Space Park in the 1964-5 World's Fair .

The silver rocket is a Mercury-Atlas rocket, the same type of vehicle used to put the first American, John Glenn, into orbit. The black, white, and silver one is a Gemini-Titan rocket.
So much to look at; my son enjoyed the interactive exhibits ! Flight of the butterflies was super cute and informative.

Get here early on Sundays before 11am (I believe) for free admission . Call ahead to confirm. There is street parking , which can save you the $10 parking lot fee.

The Rocket mini golf was awesome but on Tuesday, the museum flow was paralyzed by about 20 loud camp groups. We had trouble even passing through a few areas.

The Connected Worlds exhibit is like an interactive version of Glitch. Hey, remember Glitch? Neat game.
Parking is $10, skip it and park on the street for free. It's the same distance depending on where you park and you save money.
NYSCI has free hours on Friday and Sunday so that you can enjoy the science center for free.

Mini golf and playground closed because of heat. Really bummed. This place is the same as it was in 1995. Wish they would do something to it.
