A great museum . Besides being located in the middle of an awesome urban park it has a very eclectic exhibition schedule. As always check out the NYC panorama made by Columbia University students.
The New York city model is unbelievable, worth the trip to queens. Build t in 1964 it was Renovated in1992, that's why you can see the twin towers and battery park city
Designed by Robert Moses, “The Panorama of the City of New York” is compulsory viewing for anyone living in the city : a 9,335 square foot model of the city 's 320 square miles and 895,000 buildings.
It's a small museum . The best part is definitely the diorama of New York City circa 1992. The Tiffany lamps are stunning, there's a few dozen examples here.
The museum was pretty underwhelming. There were only 3-4 random exhibits . We probably finished walking through everything in about 30min. Luckily the admission is suggested + the view outside is????????

The exhibits here are wonderful. The facility is small but packed with something to enjoy. They even have a glass staircase (ala Apple Store).
The Panorama of New York is worth seeing alone. However, the space is light and airy and the exhibits are interesting. Right out the back window is the globe left over from the 1964-65 World’s Fair .
Little known fact, the museum hosts a record swap ! I snagged a few records after checking out the Ramones exhibit !
If you come with your friends to gawk at the NYC Panorama , bring a laser pointer so you can point out landmarks to each other.

The Queens Museum underwent a $69 million expansion a year and a half ago that doubled the institution's size with expanded galleries , a new sky-lit atrium, and artist studio wing.
After visiting the Hemisphere don't forget to visit Panorama in the queens museum. It's impressive and absolutely free!

The Panorama is a must-see. It’s a 3-D map of all of New York City . Fun fact: Queens Museum’s building was once housed the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Ditto what others say: the Panorama is a must see. I love how artists regularly interact w/ the model of NYC to give it new meanings. And I appreciate QMA's commitment to immigrant, POC, LGBT artists .
Today, I was here to cut the ribbon on the Queens Museum of Art expansion.
I could have stared at the panorama for hours. It should be a NYC rite of passage to come here and try to find your apartment . I also found the Detroit photography exhibit facinating.
If you visit for the exhibits , check the events calendar first - there was loud music playing and could be heard all throughout the museum !
Spend a bit of time oogling over the panorama, and watch for the plane landing and departing from LaGuardia airport !
They have a variety of modern art and the best scaled down architecture of NYC
Go see the model of New York City . It's a little outdated but the scale and detail are beautiful.

The ArtAccess program is among the best art classes I have attended. Very good techniques, and sometimes educational too. Would most certainly recommend to anyone in the area who may be interested.

A beautiful and relaxing place to visit. Noguchi's sculptures are both minimalistic and emotive. It's even nice in the winter time even though part of the museum is outdoors. - Emily Wilson
