Queen Elizabeth Hall

The Queen Elizabeth Hall is the second largest concert hall on Southbank Centre site, hosting chamber orchestras, quartets, choirs, dance performances and opera. As well as the main concert hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall also contains the Purcell Room and The Front Room at the QEH.

Recently refurbished with spongey leatherette seat covers. Limited leg room, so book an aisle or front of block seat if you'd prefer not to sit with your knees up round your ears.

HISTORY UK

The QEH opened in 1967 as a venue for a wide variety of music and dance acts. The inaugural performance that year was by the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Britten.

The little sister of the Royal Festival Hall, just next door. Chamber music and recitals often take place here, but you can also occasionally find the BBC Concert Orchestra .
