Tacos Matamoros

Favorites include: the Tostadas de Ceviche , shrimp nachos , mango shakes , the cheese flautas , veggie tacos , the frozen margaritas and mojitos . I'm getting hungry just writing this! I love this place!!!

A friend and I spent two years trying every Mexican place in NYC. Matamoros won. Huge cheap portions, no bad choices, several best-in-city items. Chilaquiles , tortas , tacos , mole sauce : all that good.

This is a Sunset Park institution, and the sort of place where you eat cheap , good food with friends. There’s nothing fancy about this operation.

Delicious, cheap , authentic Mexican. Lengua tacos are the best. Guac is fresh and comes w thick cut fried tortillas . Get the horchata and try the Mexican chocolate on a cold day.

I came to Sunset Park just for Mexican and picked this place because of the good tips. Maybe I came here on a bad day, but the tacos/margarita were blah. Many other places in the neighborhood to try!

Best carne asada torta I've had anywhere. I don't know how they get the steak so juicy and delicious but it is amazing

Get the large tacos , and get Them with the more obscure beef options: lengua & suadero

One of only a handful of decent Mexican food places in the city , nearly all of which are also in the Sunset Park neighborhood .

Make sure to tell them exactly what you want because apparently the most obvious directions aren't enough. Smdh. Ex. A chicken quesadilla means tortilla and chicken ... no queso . Get it together.

Step into this large, spotless space and you’re in Mexico. But it’s the food that makes it so popular. Oven- roasted goat , at $13, is the most expensive entree.

They messed up our order two times. When the check came they took all the cash and also charged our card the full amount, even though we signed for correct amt. Check your transactions afterwards.
