New York City's first dedicated "craft cocktail" bar on the Upper East Side -- The Drunken Munkey -- serving a selection of classic cocktails, wines, spirits and cordials alongside the comfort of Indian cooking. The Drunken Munkey is a playful throwback to the times of Colonial India.

The drinks and appetizers are amazing. Try the chili cheese bread (Indian food meets comfort food ), and the Paneer Tikka (sounds simple but tastes incredible). The Brambles are my new favorite drink.
Casual class with a playful wink. Start at the craft cocktail bar (signature punch!), try the whole menu (crispy okra , prawns , pork vindaloo - YUM!!!), repeat often. Love this place.
Contemporary trendy Indian with amazing monkey character and details throughout. Incredible service, drinks and food. Favorites: Tabdoori chicken tikka , munkey lamb biryani , hard boiled eggs .
Really amazing indian food and cocktails ! Don't expect a menu of curries with meat options, this is more high end . The biryanis are the best.
My absolute favorite restaurant in the city . Amazing Anglo-Indian food and unique cocktails . Pimms cup and biryani is my go-to!
Great drinks especially the Pimm's No.1 Cup, beautiful interiors and always classy music . Try the pork vindaloo and the gajar halwa. They can do no wrong, trust me!
Away from the clamorous mess of second avenue, this neighborhood jewel is one part Commonwealth, one part expat -- shaken with a twist of whimsy. The paani puri are fun. The cocktails are spectacular.
Fun, trendy monkey theme. Unique modern Indian. Tabdoori chicken tikka and Munkey Lamb Biryani were excellent. Fantastic cocktails .
Butter Ckn Tikka Masala was in a tasty & light sauce; Saag Paneer too salty; Naan was thin & not too dense; Cauliflower too vinegary &undercooked. If only seating was less cramped & in brighter space!
Favorite Indian food in the city -- fresh naan , great cocktails and amazing dishes!
Fantastic South Asian themed speakeasy , with great cocktails and bar snacks . They usually have a happy hour - 2 for 1 drinks.
Excellent little date spot on the UES. Crispy okra and vegetable korma are delicious.
Excellent Indian food in a somewhat upscale bar and grill. Very spicy ! Be sure to make a reservation or you may not get a table.
A much more upscale version of the typical Indian restaurant . It can get busy so call ahead and put your name on the waiting list!
Food is excellent, staff amazing and fantastic cocktails ! Open late ...
Solid indian food - the appetizers are really tasty with a wide range of flavors. Get the spicy toast and okra 4sure
The chicken tikka and dahi puris in the starters section were excellent
Ordered the Garden Vegetable Korma and savored its buttery texture and aromatic spices. Also ordered a side of Bombay Aloo, simply small cubed potatoes with cooked in spicy goodness. Delicious!
Love this restaurant . Great butter chicken ! Must come back and try their desserts .
Some of the best Indian in the neighborhood . Recommend the Pani puri for starters and butter masala for your main!
Incredible drinks and food's not bad either as long as you can get over the borderline racist themes
Food is amazing! The biryani melts in your mouth. Stuffed capsicum was delish! Make a reservation .
Such great food and atmosphere. Also great cocktails . Can be crowded but it's worth it.
The atmosphere, the perfectly spiced food, and the very friendly staff make this an UES gem.
Really good UES Indian restaurant ! Definitely coming again. Great food and service.
Great ambiance and beautiful presentation. Love it here.
Get the Pani Puri , India's greatest street food as an appetizer and a Singapore Sling or several. Cozy and fun.
Great new cocktail bar/Indian place. Aviation cocktail tastes like a red white and blue Popsicle awesome
More like a bar with great vibe that serves decent indian food . Cauliflower side and Pani Puuri were not very good. Chicken and shrimp entrees did not have enough flavor or kick
I recommend the Butter Chicken Tikka Masala and the Bloody Mary with cumin . So good.
I didn't think I liked Indian food until I came here, so tasty and amazing cocktails .
Cocktails are great as well as the food! The biryani was delicious
The best hindu restaurant I've ever been. The service is kind and efficient. We loved it!
Indian food till 3am, stiff cocktails , great host and in the UES. Woot woot!
Decent bhel . Overall not great Indian food . It's more targeted to the American desi food lover
The lamb biryani is fantastic! But who the hell is the hostess ? What a sour puss. Will come back but hope she isn't here
Amazing lamb kebabs and refreshing cocktails with an Indian twist to them
Butter chicken tikka masala . Just do it. Best Indian in Yorkville!
Not your typical Indian restaurant . Best lamb biryani I've had in awhile.
Take a peak at the cocktail menu . The mint julep is extra boozy . The food here is A+
Great food, ambience, cocktails . Hidden gem .
Great food....favorite of the family. Got complimentary champagne !!!
Best Indian food I ever had...!!!! Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good food and bar , expect your dish to be spicy !!!
Food is good but this is def a place for Americans. Portions are small compared to other indian restaurants .
I didn't like Indian food until I came here. Delicious.
Get the butter chicken tikka masala !
the brunch punch is delicious
Unique fusion food yum

Great place...must try... The Chai ,the chana masala roll...everything is so good.. - Richa Bhardwaj
Delicious, authentic, and reasonably priced Indian food. The dosas are incredible! - Polina Weitz
New cozy Irish/British pub with good food (cottage pie with braised short ribs!) and solid selection of beer. Perfect for these dreary winter nights. - Jen L. ????
Really like the atmosphere and vibe in this hidden speakeasy. The bartenders are awesome. Great places to sit and you feel secluded from the rest of the bar. I will definitely be back! - Paige C
Great place off the beaten path! Usually not too crowded and very attentive bartenders. - Sean Burke
