After you’ve gone about a mile up the trailhead, veer left for 0.2 miles to this gorgeous viewpoint of the Sound and various islands . It’s a short and very rewarding detour.
This is a 4 mile in and out hike with a fantadtic overview of the San Juans and the Olympic Mtns

Site 38 has a small creek that runs right next to it. Really nice acoustics when it gets quiet. A smaller site, but a good one. - Garren Katz
Great place for fresh oysters and awesome view. Get there an hour before closing otherwise they may not allow you to BBQ. Bring tongs and charcoal! - Betty Mak
