Great to see Velázquez, especially the meta-portrait Las Meninas , but it is the viscerality of Goya's 'Black paintings ' that are a highlight. Especially Saturn.

#Prado is huge with vast collection of amazing art that you must see. Tips: you can enjoy 2 hours for free from 6:00-8:00 pm. Plan your visit ahead of time with what you want to see.

Basically only 12th to 20th century European art ... so if you love paintings of Kings, Monarchs, historical European battles, and of course Jesus - then this is the place for you.

There's so much to see and so much to read! The signs are very informative and they're ALL translated into (very good) English, which is amazing. Don't go during free hours (or get there VERY early).

Ok. Buy tickets online. Maybe even if you're already *in* line . Dwnld to your phone, sneak around to the back of the museum . The ticket says you need to print , but they will scan it. Boom, no wait ????

Great collection here. Got lucky and saw the Rogier exhibit and a special 10 piece Picasso exhibit . Definitely a top 3 museum in Madrid. Only con, they wouldn't let me take pictures!

This is an amazing art museum that definitely should be on every Madrid visitor's agenda. To either join a guided tour , or getting the headsets, are recommended to get the most out of the visit.

This museum is a must see for very tourist in Madrid. But it is incredibly large and you should have eaten before coming in here. Take your time for visiting every room - afternoon might not be enough

Ideal for enthusiasts of Spanish, Italian, French and Flemish painting and sculpture . I strongly recommend the section of Goya, El Greco and Velazquez. With madrid card, you dont have to buy a ticket.

Line up for a free entry on weekdays around 1715 at the main entry. You would be given a ticket and then go through security check starting from 1800. Backpacks need to be checked in~

It really needs time to see all the paintings . So l recommend you to choose the ones you would like to see if you have limited time. Ruben was amazing, so do the Velazques and the Goya.

Incredible museum , you must go there. And try the cafeteria.They have Nespresso and it is the best coffee I ever enjoyed at a museum . Let's try a capuccino or a lattino ( with ice and cold milk froth)

This museum can take at least 4 hours to see. Come early to get a spot in line . There's free museum hours in the evening but the line to get in is much longer than the one in the morning.

One of the major museums of Spain and Europe. Impressive collection of paints, mainly from Spain (includes Goya and Velazquez), as well as from other European countries .

If you want to see the Bosch exhibition or other special exhibition make sure you book online in advance. I queued up outside for tickets only to be told at the counter that it was sold out that day.

Lots of great art . The male museum guards profile guests and follow them around each room. This has happened to me on both my visits to the Prado (2015 and 2019). Hopefully they don’t do this to you.

You can buy a ticket that gives you access to the big three Prado, Sofia and Thyssen cheaper than buying entry individually. The ticket is valThe canteen is good for a spot of lunch .

Prado Museum is a place you should definitely see before leaving Madrid. After 17h has free entrance. Prepare for long aisles! (It's better to arrive before 17h to assure a better place on it).

Well organized gallery with a lot of World masterpieces. I definitely would recommend taking audioguide (maybe it's free with a ticket, don't remember)

Yes there's free entry in the evenings, but it gets pretty crowded (especially on weekends). For a relaxed visit pay the entry fee & go earlier. Allow 2+ hours. Floors are shiny, good for moonwalking.

You need at least 4-5 hours if you want to see everything. Got lucky to see 10 of Picasso's artworks during my visit.

Amazing collection of artwork from all over during several time periods. A little confusing layout, but great to wander around and discover something new.

Free admission at 6pm daily. Before getting in line , spend 15€ at the Westin Palace hotel for a glass of Rioja . It sets the right mood.

If you're thinking of getting the free admission (which you should) get there early. Like before 5:30. Seriously. Even on a Monday night! The queue snakes around the block...

Go every day for little trips after 17.15 as it's free to enter after 17h and by then the huge lines are gone. The museum closes at six, but if you're a local or on a long(ish) stay you'll be fine. 8)

El Greco , Bosch and Bruegel are must see. Definitely worth visiting. They have good audio guides! But note that it will take more than 2 hours!

Amazing. Be ready to spend almost all day here if you are an art lover. The cafeteria has decent prices and food so you don't have to go out (or be hungry)

One day ist not enough! Enjoy one of the greatest museums in Europe and learn about Rubens , Velásquez ...camera shooting inside forbidden!

You shouldn’t take photos in here; enjoy the art . Buy your ticket before to avoid the 20-minute wait (minimum).

There are only so many depictions of the crucifixion that a person can take. Still, the exhibitions are alluring, and Diego Velàzquez's Las Meninas is almost worth the price of admission alone.

Line moves relatively quickly, free entrance from 6 to 8 PM. Breathtaking paintings and sculptures , a must-see for anyone coming to Madrid.

You can’t say Madrid without speaking of The Prado. Home to Goya, Velazquez, Murillo, El Greco and so many other greats that it can honestly be hard to take it all in.

Hieronymus Bosch 's Garden of Earthly Delights is here. An amazing, intriguing painting right in front of your eyes. You can also buy a puzzle with 1000 pieces of this painting for 12.00 euros.

There are so many pieces by the old great masters in here. You can verify their actual existence while contemplating their undoubted skill. Bosch and Goya for me... Raphael's not bad either...
