There’s a free cloakroom. The permanent collections have ~50 rooms. It took me 2.5 hrs to see everything. Get an audio guide for €5.
Museum is en el Palacio de Villahermosa (Paseo del Prado). Offers a variety of masterpieces from 13th to late 20th century. I liked most final rooms with avant-grade pop art collection .
An amazingly diverse collection - simply stunning. From Noon to 4 pm on Mondays, it is free as well ! Use the website to plan your tour through the museum for best use of time.
The museum is just spectacular. Visit the Rembrant special exhibition and the impressionist gallery on the first floor.
Must see when in Madrid for sure! Amazing and very diverse collection. Now Edward Hopper exhibition is on show which is pretty remarkable! And vegetable ratatouille at their restaurant on the roof ;)

Allow 2h30-3h for this museum , or skip the medieval bit - the last rooms are absolutely amazing & you'll wish you'd allowed more time for them! Not a lot of signs - download the apps for explanations.

A good portion of the 1st floor is closed as of November 2022. I love this place but really missed seeing Ernst, Pollock, Rothko, etc. this time around.
Permanent collection is a whirlwind tour of art through the centuries. 99% paintings , nothing really Spanish-specific. Free entry after noon-ish on Mondays!

Totally recomending it! Even if you're not a connaiseur, you'll be impressed. Loved the Woman in bath of Roy Lichtenstein and most of the north american paintings .

The cafe can be very busy and service slow but worth the wait if you need to refuel before the next gallery visit

Museum is free on Mondays from 12 till 16. Save 10€. But come in advance, people know about it and the queue can be long.
Beautifully curated and the special exhibitions are always great.
If you actually want to learn something I suggest renting the audio guides they are worth the small eurocharged

Huge park in the middle of the city. A lot of trails for walks and biking. Small sports facility for workouts. Great place to find stillness and quiet. - Loni French
