The Sazerac Bar claims to serve the only authentic Ramos Gin Fizz in town . It was apparently Governor Huey P. Long’s favorite drink. Read more
Great place for a classic Whisky cocktail - next time you order a manhattan , go for "dry" or "perfect" - subs/cuts the sweet vermouth with dry vermouth instead. A completely different cocktail .
Tony and Davis Rogan enjoy a few signature cocktails and an ambience that harkens to an older time. Named after the world’s first mixed drink , Sazerac has as much history and lore as its namesake.
Renowned historical bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel . Open since the 1930s, The Sazerac is now The Official Cocktail of New Orleans, and this is the best place to try it. My fave is The Ramos Gin Fizz .
Pay homage to this bar 's namesake with a toast to what many believe is the first cocktail in America. This bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel has an elegant upscale vibe perfect for a date night spot .
One word. Classy . One of the best Old Fashioned 's I've ever had. Dress up. Bring a date. Step back in time a little.
This bar shattered a 100 year old males only custom back in1949 by allowing women. Get a Sazerac or Ramos gin fizz !
Very knowledgeable & deliberate bar tenders and well crafted house cocktail menu make this a great spot for a high end drink
Love this classy ambiance ! Great drinks. Preferred the 1840 sazerac over the original.
Classic New Orleans bar . Excellent cocktails , beautiful location and lots of history. Definitely worth stopping by during your visit to New Orleans.
A solid stop for a Sazerac (of course) or a Ramos Gin Fizz . Inside the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel .
Excellent destination: handcrafted cocktails and a knowledgeable bartender . We especially enjoyed the Blood Orange Sunset the Southern Gentleman and the Texas Mule. It's an experience not just a bar .
The gin fizz is amazing. It's creamy without having any milk in it. And very easy to drink!
Beautiful, beautiful bar . Step back in time. Great, though expensive , drinks particularly the Ramos Gin Fizz , Sazerac and Pimms Cup .
Classic New Orleans cocktails in a lovely upscale environment. Ramos Gin Fizz is my go to , like drinking a lemon pie .
Ramos Gin Fizz is a must. Classic bar with beautiful hotel . Artwork is dated and fairly inappropriate for modern day. Drinks are spot on.
Even though the Sazerac is New Orleans' official cocktail , I wouldn't say it was my favorite - but they do make some awesome Bellini-s 👍
Excellent tour of the history of Sazerac and similar drinks. All with tasty samples of course.
If the Roosevelt Hotel didn't empress you then Sazerac will, Art Deco interiors and hands down the best Gin Fiz's in the world.
Home of the namesake cocktail , in a lovely, Art Deco designed space. The gin fizz is great too.
Go. Get the sazarac! Read about the amazing history. The murals are awesome and original. Speakeasy feel.
Yes, the gin fizz is great. Try the Hot Buttered Rum in winter, though! It's like liquid Christmas . Not too sweet, not too strong...just PERFECT!
I know you'll want a sazerac , but try a gin fizz . Tangy and sweet and artfully made. Like a soufflé in a glass!
Have to say, though pre made syrup and all that, the ramos gin fizz is magnificent
At the Sazerac Bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel , order a potent sazerac or a more refreshing Ramos Gin Fizz . -Travel Editor
Wonder what kind of drink the serve here... it’s delicious and a good way to use your Hilton Honors credit.
Birthplace of the cocktail . Get the Sazerac...You owe it to the cocktail gods.
This historic bar specializes in classics like a Gin Fizz or, of course, a Sazarac. There's plenty of Scotch , too. – Green Guide Editor
Just get the Sazerac . Bubbly lady and other signature cocktails after that.
A little fancier than I expected, but worth it for the history and the Sazarac cocktail
Great old cocktail lounge feel w excellent cocktails nestled in the beautiful Roosevelt hotel
Old fashioned was nice, but the Ramos Gin Fizz is the best I've had this NOLA trip.
Cool old bar in here where important people like presidents and governors got together to discuss strategy and women.
Classic New Orleans bar . There’s plenty to try apart from the sazarac!
Visiting is free and you can reserve a time slot online. The tour lasts about an hour.
Excellent specialty drinks , especially the Southern Gentleman .
Classic bar with lots of wood; comfy , romantic . Thankfully, there's no TV !!
As you would imagine, they serve the best Sazerac in New Orleans. Boucherie's is a close second.
Definitely worth going to, even if it's just to experience the history of the place.
A rare bar that makes a proper gin fizz .
Quality drinks. Try the Sazerac , Southern Gentleman , and Ramos Gin Fizz .
Classy , beautiful cocktail bar . So much history and heritage.
Cocktails are great, but don't overlook the strong bourbon and American whiskey selections
A cozy and ritzy spot for a classic Sazerac cocktail .
Get the Ramos Gin Fizz - will not disappoint
Get a flip! Specifically the Laphroig, Glenfiddich , blood orange brandy one!
Great vibe and delicious Sazarac! Worth a visit during your time in NOLA!
Beautifully crafted cocktails in a classic New Orleans setting
Sazerac is really good though bartenders should be so tired of making it 😅
In spite of its history, this is not the best place to taste the classics, but worth seeing the 1930’s WPA-era murals by artist Paul Nina.
