Great neighbourhood bar with a sweet cocktail menu and surprisingly great food as well . Great DJs on a Saturday night and a good crowd. Already one of the best places to drink in Islington.
The rib eye steak with kimchi hollandaise is absolutely amazing. And the frites with pulled pork , kimchi , and cheese make a perfect accompaniment. This is my new favourite restaurant in Islington.
Great burgers (recommend the mac'n'cheese) and good selection of craft beers ! 👍🍺 Relaxed environment on weeknights
The wine list is well-priced and the beer is locally sourced . The hot dog stand? That’s the DJ booth so hit it at the weekends to flex your moves. http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/london/john-salt
Dessert was yummy as we're the cocktails . Leeks with truffle vinegarette was fantastic. Had mussels for dinner which were also good. The side of chips I got was not tasty.
Great food. Good price for what you get. Recommend the chips and dips sharers! Cocktail menu is great ! Good happy hour everyday!
Just wonderful. Small but delicious menu full of smoked meats and interesting veggie sides. Great beer selection and we ate well for £50.
Rankin brings a BBQ influenced twist to the Sunday roast and I welcome it with open arms. Read our full review on Scoff London: http://scofflondon.com/restaurants/john-salt-review-n1/
This place had amazing food (and still does today) but they fired the kitchen; new staff start in the new year. I can't imagine why. The team here were putting it on the map with knockout reviews.
I like a good whiskey sour and I just moved from New York. So naturally, The New York Sour.
Great cocktails , amazing starters, superb selection of beers but... very disappointing mains. Pop in for a pint and nibbles but go somewhere else for a dinner .
Great beer menu , and the chicken skin sandwich is amazing. Probably not what you had in mind when you ordered it, but good god it's worth it.
Happy Hour from 5-7pm Monday to Saturday and 5 to Close on Sunday but one get one free.
On Sunday you get a free roast diner when you are buying one. Great deal. Great staff . Nice cocktails .
Great selection of bottles beers , be warned though...they're pretty strong!
Cool place. Good food (pub style) and nice live dj music on fridays/saturdays nights.
Sunday lunch option is limited so go for the weekday/saturday option. The squid starter is delicious.
I've only been here in the day. It was pretty empty but still a nice atmosphere for a casual but substantial sit down lunch .
Nice place for a drink with friends and somewhere that you can actually hear them!
Good place to meet friends for a drinks. Spacious and lots of seating
Amazing decor - check out the poured concrete floors . Really friendly staff . Chilled atmosphere!
Best burger I've had in a good while, way nicer than Meat Liquor
Cool vibe and trendy place but bar had Rin out of mint and couldn't make much cocktails which was silly
Lovely for a drink in a weeknight . Too busy and meh on the weekend.
Spacious . Nice interior.
If this was a great restaurant that was long ago! My visit was too late after Ben Spalding and even Neil Rankin left the place. Food average, bar and drinks seem more interesting. Full review... Read more
Try the lamb chops . They're delicious!
Wifi is pepper131
Lively , trendy bar .
House fries and cocktails
Might be in bottles but... AMERICAN BEER !
ordered the full a la carte menu (party of 5) - pretty disappointing. place is overrated for food, service was good though, cocktails ok

Loud and opens til late.
Average food, solid coctails , pretty empty on Friday nights. It's also obvious that no pretty girls visit this place...
Bitterly disappointing. Too much butter in bland potted shrimp , soggy frites , kimchi more like sauerkraut , and bacon panna cotta with awful artificial taste. Just don't bother.
Food is amazing.
Underwhelming for lunch .
Terrible music
Mediocre food. Terrible service.
Sunday roasts are great and the bloody mary is fierce and refreshing!! - Omer Cavusoglu
The t-bone steak to share is amazing. Great beer too. - Jonathan Beeston
The best American style bar in London, no doubt! No matter what time of day you go in, the lights are low, the beer is flowing and the juke box is spitting out the tunes. A great night out! - Stuart Hall
Bailey chocolate cake and vanilla apple cake are both perfect! - Wei-wei Lin
Great theatre with really good and bold plays. Definitely one of my favourites in London - Alvaro Rodriguez
