From beef hot pot to pressed sushi and unique tempura veg (try the cauliflower !), this lil' ikazaya does it right. Modern, rad service that bends backwards to accommodate dietary needs , cheap saké .

Danny Brown

Wow. Medium sake + deep fried prawns + negitoro + green tea gelato . A gourmet, 3-course meal with top-notch presentation for ~ $40 CAD including tip. The waitress ran to the door to say bye as I left.

Eater

The essential Vancouver Izakaya experience. Get there at lunch to score one of the Deluxe Bento Boxes (only 10 made each day) to try a whole heap of absolutely everything. [Eater 38 Member]

Steven

My favourite place in Vancouver BC. Dishes are fairly priced and very tasty. I come here regularly. It's better to make a reservation even for lunch unless you show up right after they open.

Chieko Bonna

Best authentic Japanese restaurant in Vancouver for sure. Loved their special lunch box which you need to call 4-5 days in advance to reserve . Only 10 boxes in a day.

Shawn Parkinson

This is currently my #1 spot in Vancouver. It's all good, even miso soup is amazing. Chicken Karage Lunch Bowl. Try the beef rib for dinner , it might be one of the best things I've eaten.

Seijung Park

Almost everything was good! Yuzu tataki was really good. Skip the tofu agedashi. It’s one of the better ones I’ve had but still think there’s better items to order like the black cod .

Christine Kneeshe-duh

Seriously the best sashimi I've ever had. Negitoro gunkan was amazing!!! This is a place I plan to make a part of every trip to Vancouver.

Tom Coates

All the food is good. Some of it is delicious - particularly the black cod . Strongly recommend you order in stages as they will bring everything out quite quickly.

Vivian Lee

Very good Japanese food . Great quality. Decor inside is nice. Servers are friendly . Matcha creme Brûlée was delicious.

Fernanda Inomata

At lunch you must arrive at 11am to vet a Deluxe Bento Box . It worth it! They serve only 10 units per day!

Aidan Hornsby

Incredible sushi , sashimi and great food all around, plus generous portion sizes. But, don't expect the decor or atmosphere of a truly traditional izakaya .

Dennis Pang

Order the deluxe bento box . Great value at $16! But it's only available for lunch . And they only make 100 orders per day and they usually sell out. You can order it over the phone though. ;)

@JaumePrimero

This little izakaya in West Vancouver totally took me by surprise. Order the "My-Ebi Mayo ." Awesome. Wash it down with the house hot sake .

Agatha Yu

Lunch sets are amazing. Try to get in early for their 15 pieces lunch set (only 10 per day)

Martin Hellström

Quite a locomotion inside for one to sit and observe. Food is what you can expect from a place like this - excellent.

Gillian She

It’s very high quality Japanese food with reasonable price! Bento set is limited for 8/10 sets!

Elizabeth Fernandez

Don't miss the kobe beef on a hot stone. And the tan tan noodles . Everything delicious!

Ting

Portions are huge. Everything we ordered was amazing but my favorite was the salmon cerviche with cornflakes . What a novel idea!

Leslie d

Everything was incredible. Tried about 11 dishes, Kobe beef was on the top of the list. Only let down was the miso soup it was more like a vegetable stew .

G M

Best service!!! I didn't know the lunch and dinner menus were different but they let me order a lunch dish anyway! The negitoro bowl is the best!

Marites Martin

Watch out! They give a lot of food. Normally sashimi you get 3 thin slices, here you get 7 thick slices! Normally sushi you get 2 small ones, mouthful. Here you get 6 big ones! Not complaining!!

Donna Eng

Lunch special bento is truly special. They only make 10 per day so get there early. Great way to sample many items if you can't decide what to have!

pixarina

mackerel pressed sushi , salmon carpaccio , kobe beef on a hot stone, uni udon (ordered second), all stellar; sashimi was good not great.

Patricia T

This food is amazing! The menu is totally different for what I've tasted in a sushi restaurant ! A must in Vancouver

Eve Chen

BEST bento lunch set in the city . Be sure to reserve early as they only make 10sets per day!

Vivian Zhang

The octopus , sashimi and lychee gray are to die for!

Jen Lai

Tako-wasabi. Best $3.80 I've ever spent.

Vitamin Yi

All the udons are a must try, as well as the chicken karaage and Kobe beef

paulml

Uni Udon , Tantanmen, Ebi Fry, Pork Cheeks , Yakimeshi Rice , Black Cod !

Jason Pickens

Deep fried corn and the tuna tataki was delicious. Also the ebi mayo . Yum

Denise

Amazing food and really good service .

Alicia Adderley

If you aren't a fish lover, try the Chicken Kara-age Bowl... It is amazing!!

Kathy Sun

really great vegetarian options and service! the avocado pressed sushi is on point

Naomi K

Delicious food. Tuna tataki is yummy. Get the fried corn though, surprisingly tasty.

Ruogu Kang

Stone pot unagi don is the best!

Dale Evans

Everything here is great, but you should try the ishiyaki (thin sliced meat cooked on a hot stone).

ClearlyContacts.ca

A Japanese tapas style restaurant with great share plates if you're looking for a place to eat with some friends or family.

Kelly Marion

Try the invincible and undefeated tan tan noodle (love the name), the kobe beef stone and the tuna tataki .

Gabriela P.

Very original and good food, but very inefficient service - hostess takes walk in and phone reservations , takes orders, cleans up and set up tables, etc., so waiting times are terrible.

Bahram Shokouhian

Great restaurant ! Order sake by the glass and u will have the waiter shouting stuff in japanese!

Nati Catalan

Everything is top class ????

Jessica Chau

Best Japanese lunch in Vancouver. Try the Deluxe set, Tonkatsu set, or Kakuni Bowl. Unforgettable.

Lor

Beef tongue on hot stone is a must! Tuna carpaccio is great too. For lunch the pork katsu is delicious too!

Damian J

Make sure you let the staff know if it is someone's birthday. Great food and a great selection of drinks too!

Becky Wang

Open until midnight and the food is amazing and creative❤

Nathan

Get the udon with crab , uni, and ikura .

viktormr
