The Market Lunch

I usually come on Saturday for the French toast specials. They always use fresh fruit , not the kind in the clingy syrup , and it's so yummy. Open Saturday and Sunday now.

Come early for Saturday's breakfast . Special items on the menu include the famous blueberry buckwheat pancakes and the eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes . But bring cash!

Crab cakes are good and the sweet corn and cucumber salad are tasty. I also like the ginger bread at the far corner bakery at the end of the market .

The French toast special is always delicious. The French toast is topped with fresh fruit from the market vendors.

They serve the BEST breakfast on Saturdays until noon. Try the bluebucks (blueberry buckwheat pancakes ) or crab cakes Benedict !

Eastern market institution. Cash only . Long lines on the weekends & closed on Mondays. Have only had breakfast . Big scoop of butter on the grits .

BLT with egg was delicious. Order at the counter, very quick service . Located inside Eastern Market

Inspectors closed Market Lunch at Eastern Market citing 5 violations including rodent droppings on the floor in the food prep area. It passed re-inspection and reopened.

The crabcake sandwich is delicious and worth the money

Really good pancakes and large portions . They only take cash.

Get here early on Sat. morning for the 'Bluebucks ' & have cash. During the week, try the 'Brick'. For the displaced Southerner - their fried green tomatoes are almost as good as home's.

The rockfish and spicy grits breakfast is great!

The bluebuck pancakes that everyone raves about aren't good at all. Go to Bubby's in NYC if you want real pancakes .

The cashier/order taker was very rude. Stared at me when I tried to order. Not a smile. Not a "can I help you" When I asked for pancakes , she told me in a very unfriendly way no breakfast after 11:00

On weekends, breakfast is only served on Saturdays til 12. No breakfast on Sundays.

The Brick is a great breakfast sandwich ! If you're not afraid of consuming some calories, get it!
