Get your backcountry permits in the cabin just past the visitor center here.
Arrive before 7am; avoids crowds and no ranger at the gate means free entry.
Somehow no rangers here... got in free??!! Ok!! Guess early mornings are the time to come.
Great place for kids to become Junior Rangers
