I love the occasional concert and movie they have in Lincoln Park. Navy band plays every year!
Yes, great place for dogs, but also a fixture amongst the hill families after school and on weekends. North playground for smaller kids and south for less small kids, not really for kids over 10yo.
Go after 7 or so and ogle the dogs. Also the statue of Lincoln makes me v uncomfortable, what about you?
The only tip is to enjoy yourself... especially if with the kids on the playground .

Leash your animals! They eat picnics !
When you see the park police , leash your dog
Great spot for running laps.
What's up with the statue ? Why does D.C. celebrate emancipation with a statue that celebrates 19th-century racism? http://washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/19522/statue-of-limitations/
Look out for Park Police(?) citing and/or warning people about not keeping dogs on a leash .

Lovely spot to walk, run, or roll near Nationals Park. Great waterfront location, and so so so many places to grab a bite or drink. Bluejacket and Osteria Morini are some favorites. - Danielle DaSilva
This is a fabulous park/playground in the Capitol Hill area. Only 4 blocks from the Capitol and within one block of several restaurants. Great stop for the family if you want to have a picnic! - Ciri Fenzel
Great spot for food truck lunch. Veggie balls & cauliflower fresh from the farm. Yum - Elizabeth Evans
Great weekend market full of artisans, food, and antiques. Be sure to ask about the origin of the foods in the farmer's market; not all the vendors use local produce. - Capital Spice
Best grocery store in DC. A hidden gem. If you are looking for something and they don't carry it the manager may offer to start carrying it. So much batter than Harris teeter across the way. - Russell Martin
