Happiness cocktail , egg drop soup , soft shell crab and the duck were all amazing. Little bit of a splurge for dinner with drinks, but it was a fun environment and very creative food.
Crispy Scarlet Turnip Cakes . And the smoked tofu was all kinds of new spices.
Reminds me of a more laid back Hakkasan with more OG Cantonese flavor profile and higher price point. Dungeness crab custard and uni noodle are must haves
Fantastic Michelin started Chinese food that’s inventive, delicious, and relatively affordable — plus tasty cocktails and slick vibes. Dutch crunch pork buns , uni cheong fun , squid ink pork wontons ????
Amazing food, service and cocktails . The Dutch crunch BBQ buns , hot and sour soup , and mapo tofu really stood out, but the duck was the star of the show.
Get their early, and grab one of their amazing cocktails to start. I tried their prix fixe menu , and it was outstanding, but go with a larger group and build your own family style meal.
Contemporary evolution of Cantonese cuisine . Charcuterie was inspired and my favorites of the night. Save room for dessert if you can. I didn't but I got the black sesame cake anyway. No regrets.
Very creative and elevated takes on Chinese food classics. Interesting ingredients brings twists to the old stand-bys. Don't miss the Steak Fried Rice with Shaved Tuna Heart. WinstonWanders.com
Scallion pancake is really unique. Steak fried rice and potstickers are familiar dishes but the flavors are on point. Wouldn’t say that you absolutely have to order the duck . Make reservations .
Mr Jiu's is a wonderful, updated take on classic Chinese food . The family style dinners are perfect for big groups. Love it!
Make reservations for a big group for an expensive feast or walk in with a friend and share a couple reasonably priced dishes at the bar .
There’s freewheeling joy in the mixing and matching of dishes; some that channel dim sum mainstays, a few generous meat or seafood platters for sharing. Read more
Try the tasting menu if it's your first time. Steak fried rice , quail , and frozen whipped honey are the stars.
Nice ambience and good food, although pricey . Order a few things to share vs banquet menu -- steak fried rice and duck were both great. Good cocktails , I liked the gin-based Happiness.
Everything was great but the squid wontons and wild mushroom Bao stood out. Also, their cocktails are good- lots of complexity and subtle flavors that popped out even more with the food.
Chinese Fancy ! Pork wontons with squid was incredible. Steak fried rice was pretty good, and worth splitting, but doesn’t live up to the hype of all these tips.
Cocktails are stellar and I could have eaten 100 Dutch crunch buns . I already have the duck and the sesame seed cake picked out for our next trip!
Great high end Chinese food experience. The steak fried rice was killer. I recommend the tasting menu but be warned that it is a ton of food.
Rise above the bourgeoisie while you feast on mu shu and pork bao . Skip the prix fixe "banquet menu" and wine pairing .
Everything is so tasty!! And the ambience is excellent. Unlikely spot in Chinatown.
Slightly disappointed by the food (except the superb deserts ) but adored the magnificent interior design .
Expensive but delicious small plates . The chicken wings were particularly fantastic, but everything we tried was perfectly cooked with a good crisp.
Happiness is the best drink there, hands down.
Get the duck . Happy hour is bomb - midori cocktail is light and melon-y and not too sweet.
Excellent diner with the 7 dishes menu. Avoid the wine pairing , better to choose yourself
Maybe my favorite restaurant in SF, highly recommend the Dutch crunch pork buns , uni rolls and wontons ❤️!
Peking duck was amazing! We also loved the scallion pancakes and moo shu mushrooms . Neutral on the squid ink dumplings
The luck and happiness cocktails are delicious. I’d go back just for cocktails .
Incredible cocktails ! Try the Peking duck : buttery tender & crispy skin . The buns are interesting. Good wings .
Don't sleep on the silken mapo tofu and be aware the cocktails keep the same names even though their ingredients might change every few months.
the food arrangement is beautiful tho the taste is not really following. and prices are very high. the restaurant is lovely.
The pork buns , sea urchin cheong fun and the steak fried rice is great. Save room for dessert !!!
Must haves: scallion pancakes , dirty rice , and dumplings ! Cocktail of choice: pixie and Luna!
Just sat at the bar but found that menu limited. Scallion pancake was recommended. Quite tasty. But overall, would say perhaps dine in the restaurant for a proper meal.
Dutch crunch pork buns are very San Francisco.
Get the Dutch crunch BBQ pork buns + steak fried rice . THIS IS NOT A ONE DOLLAR SIGN PLACE. Nor is it traditional/authentic Chinese food place.
The duck is amazing!
super average chinese food w/o any twist or creation, and definitely subpar service for a michelin star restaurant . remind me again where the star is for? ????
The best thing here is the char-siu. That was really delicious. Other dishes were alright. Expensive Chinese fusion food. Service and cocktails were good though.
Mister Jiu's currently priced at $ out of $$$$ (0-10$ price point). This is EXTREMELY MISLEADING but I can't figure out how to suggest an edit. Someone: please change it to $$$ or even $$$$.
Go with a large group. Don't miss the fried rice , turnip cake , or duck .
Scallion pancake , black sesame cake , tofu skin.
Try the cocktails , great bartender
Try happiness cocktail . They are maestros!
Get the quail and cheung fun .
Great food! Our server was a little weird though. I ordered my drink and she said "I hate that drink". ????
Crab app and beef fried rice . Tea is creative and yummy
Michelin star restaurant . Explains the service, prices, and also the quality.
Pork buns and sea urchin cheong fun are delish.
Dumplings with vinegar sauce
Everything on the menu was amazing! Especially the prawn toast, lamb skewers, and egg tart - An Sheng
Ordering ahead is usually a good idea. Melissa's interpretation of (Asian) pastry is phenomenal – from rich burnt honey pie to fluffy, not-too-sweet vanilla sponge slices. - Jenn Chen
thrice cooked bacon is the bomb. the rice cakes inside are perfect. - Max Blue ????????
Great modern twist on the American Chinese classics. Come here for a livelier, healthier, fresher version of your favorite takeout dishes. - McDavid Stoddard
Good pickled mustard green fish soup. Their beef pancake roll is a must get!! - Agatha Yu
One of my favorite spots in all of SF. Can’t imagine you can get a better mai tai! - Josh Martin
The Lava Bowl is outstanding and the Tonga Platter is an excellent way to try a multitude of their excellent food. - Drunken History
The coconut washed drink and milk punch are the best drinks! Fried chicken ???????? - Sydney M
