Red Iguana 2: same food / less WAIT than Red Iguana 1. Chili Verde and Carnitas were super DELISH. The next to us had the HUEVOS Motulenos: Carnitas with eggs - that's what I am having next time!
I had the shredded beef burritos . I thought they were great but I was full after the appetizer and the chips and salsa which were also great! I’d advise a stop at this place if you’re in the area.
Oh, mole mio! Red Iguana defines Mexican food . We have friends who drive 3 hours round trip for their mole . Try the mole sampler before you order and decide which type you love. Enjoy!
The Iguana Plate was superb. The chile relleno especially was amazing with queso fresco & The beef and red sauce on the enchilada was perfect with the right flavor combo with a hint of cinnamon .
Accommodated a food allergy impeccably. Offered a mole sampler - awesome. Tamarind margarita very good too. As a Texan I was super pleased with this Tex Mex joint in Utah.
Ask for a mole sampler ! You get to try all the different moles & then decide which is the most delicious... Good luck with THAT ;) Also be prepared for a serious wait. But don't worry, it's worth it!
Mole Amarillo was excellent. Ask for a sample of the moles to find your favorite.
The Red Iguana Combo plate is a fun way to try tastes of multiple menu options. The Tamarind Margarita was delicious!
Restaurant was good, not great, but still good. I had steak fajitas since I'm not a big mole person. I'd like to think I'm a good Mexican food critic since there are so many restaurants in Chicago!
Great service, fantastic Mexican food . And really great atmosphere. Expect a wait, but they move through the line fairly quickly and it is really truly worth the wait.
Try the mole sampler (ask your server, it's free) and then get a dish with your favorite...can't go wrong. On Sundays the Huevos Monteleños is outstanding! Fish tacos are awesome too
A great selections of mole . All with a great amount of spice, but I opted for the cochinita pibil from the state oh Merida.
Rates as the best Mexican food place in Salt Lake City. Extensive menu with authentic dishes . Expect a wait.
Negro Mole is to die for-as are Carnitas . If Red Iguana is backed up w/reservations go around block to Red Iguana 2-we walked in & were able to get seats at counter with no wait. #win
I got the fish tacos ! They were delicious! Proportions are big but doable. Everything tasted fresh. I love the arroz con leche for dessert !!
Bigger of the two locations but can be tricky to get to. Love their moles with vegetarian option ! Also get their sopapillas .
Moles ! Very authentic food. And they had hard-to-find tamarind margaritas ! Salud!
Never busy for breakfast . Delicious egg dishes and the most amazing coffee !
Staff and chef were fabulous to accommodate a difficult allergy and the food tasted very good despite missing the original seasoning
The latest iteration of the Red Iguana offers the same wonderful dishes in a more spacious setting. Nice patio with view of the trains going by. Ample parking . Much less of a wait than the original Re
The moles are rightly renowned. But I'll say that the retried beans are the best I've ever had anywhere. Yum.
Best Mexican restaurant ever. EVER. E to the V to the E to the R. Fantastic food with reasonable prices and great service. It's the bees knees covered in mole .
Food is good, tres leche cake is awesome, service can be pretty slow. I understand you're busy, but it's a smaller building and have more than enough wait staff , that service should be much faster
The Enchiladas Poblanos is very tasty and a great choice under $10
Fajitas !!! Combination of the sirloin and shrimp . BEST. THING. EVER. 💜
The best specials are: 1. mango enchiladas on Friday. 2. Enchiladas nuevo mexico on Tuesday. Everything is good here.
Ask for a MOLE SAMPLER . They will let you try all the different flavors before ordering!
Great cocktails and mole . So many good things it's hard to choose.
Awesome authentic dishes at the Red Iguana 2. Sister restaurant to the original Red Iguana.. Always crowed but worth the wait.. Lots of signature dishes and great choices and excellent service. A must Read more
The wait here isn't as long as the original location and the food is just as good. Take the time to eat here. You wont be disappointed.
Enchilada Potosinas! Hot...really hot. But really really good.
Molè ! Coloradito is best, but Amarillo is awesome if you can handle the spice
Get the mole sampler to start and let that guide your decision for dinner .
Phenomenal mole . Great margaritas to choose from too!
Everything is cray-mazing! Most prices are very budget friendly .
If it is your first time, ask for the Mole Sampler . Best way to get an idea of what you might like!
Nice outdoor seating but there is always a wait here!
Absolutely delicious. I want to try it all. Rhat will require multiple trips!
Go here, you won't have Mole better anywhere! I love this place!
Tacos a la Iguana are the best! Love the guac !!
Get any of the mole . Can't go wrong
Enchilada Suisse is the best. Love the mole .
The jalapeño margarita has an amazing tingle!
Probably (no joke) the best Mexican food I've ever had.
Choose the mole Negro or mole Poblano ! Most flavorful with the Mexican chocolate !
The mango enchiladas are excellent
Some of the best Mexican this side of the Rio Grande... both locations are great
I have never had anything from here that I would not have again.
Best ever !
This is the best Mexican food ever. Everything is delicious. Never leave SLC without stopping here first. Yummo!
#6 chicken ranchero burrito is delicious! The side is basic tater tots but come on... who doesn’t love tots?! - Kristen Watson
Great burritos. Desserts aren't listed so just ask. Good fried ice cream. - Krista Martin
The quesadilla is a very underrated menu choice. With pork, it's an ultimate comfort food. - Maegan Crandall
Christmas lights at Temple Square are heavenly! The gardens are beautiful all year round but at Christmas and Spring they are amazing. - Sibely N. K.
Great place for Jazz games and other sporting events. As a concert venue, it is sometimes lacking in sound quality. - William
New owners. New feel. New crowd. I loved the old, dirty, cash-only Bar X, but this place is great, too. Metro feel and Moscow Mules are refreshing. Service is slow, but worth it. - Ginny-Beth Joiner
