São Jorge Castle is a castle Castelo Lisbon located in Portugal.
R. da Costa do Castelo 1100-179 Lisbon Portugal
One of the highlights point in Lisbon with panoramic view over the city . You can visit also the castle and admire the sunset with a glass of wine . 8,50€ entrance is too much for what you actually see
Amazing views from the moment you cross the gate. Go at 4 when it's getting quieter and before you leave have a glass of wine from the wine with a view truck , sit on the wall and appreciate the view
It's a "must visit" historic site in Lisbon . The view from the city is great and there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby that you can go to after
The entrance is quite a rip off but definitely worth the view ! Highly recommend to get a glass of wine sipping while enjoying the red rooftops view . The castle itself is boring
You should go there in comfortable shoes ) a lot of stairs and stones. And after the Castle you can eat a pastel de nata . You would not be fat, never))
That's just marvelous, these castle walls you can see while Lisbon from, the green landscapes on the top make you feel refreshed any time being there. Must see for any crazy history lover like me!
It’s a little bit of a hike so heads up to those with walking disabilities. I went with an elderly person so we took our time. The vista over Lisbon is beautiful. Go see the archeological part.
Obligatory visit for best views of Lisbon . Make sure you visit the museum before you tread the castle , and get transported into a different era.
i was a bot sceptic about the paying part of the castle district but i totally worth it! beautiful view of Alfama, Bairro Alto and the bridge , jungle-like gardens and medieval walls.
It's a castle . You go in castle because it's high. You go high because it's good pictures. It's good pictures because your friends be jealous. Duh.
Stunning views across the city , the 6 peacocks perching in the trees were a nice addition. Go early or late as for most of the day it is absolutely crawling with people, which can be very stressful
Entrance: 10 Euros for an adult. For that you get the castle , an archeological site, a museum , a garden (worh peacocks !), and an amazing view of Lisbon
Great view of Lisbon , if you're a student you get a discount on your admission fee, I especially loved the old cannons and the water well . Try to come early in the morning for a breathtaking view ✨
Worth for the Lisbon view , take the walk option to get to it, trams are quite crowded . A nice (but pricey restaurant inside, some good Nata coffee shop next to the castle entrance)
The beautiful Saint George Castle is where you'll get a glimpse of Lisbon 's history as well as get amazing views of the city and the Tagus River . Pay close attention to the amazing Ogival House.
Take your the most comfortable shoes and start to hike around this great panaromic view .
This is a really nice place to casually stroll and take in the views . Go early or late - best enjoyed when not amongst crowds. Camera obscura is worth checking out too!
Vey nice place , you must visit it , panoramic view of Lisbon , loved ur so much ????
Beautiful and peaceful place with great views but overpriced entrance at 8.5€ per person. Great for sunset watching
We did the blue ticket skip the line but at the 16 euro package. The views are great but if you want to know about the castle go on a tour because there are no informational pieces throughout.
Splendid view of the city of Lisbon . You can climb up the walls of the castle , look around the grounds and visit the on-site Archeological museum . The entry prices (June 2013) were a decent €7.50.
Fantastic views across Lisbon . The gardens are very scenic and the peacocks were a nice surprise. Worth the walk up the hill from town , too, if you can manage it.
It's a great place to visit once in Lisbon , the view is amazing
Nice place to hang out for a long time. Half a day? Easy! Peacock families walking around people, parrots (go to archeological area), cats relaxing under bushes, and castle on its own
Really a great place! Beautiful views over all the city , even if you have to "hike " up to the towers of this castle . Entrance price reduced for students under 25 years. Free wifi .
This impressive 10th-century crenellated castle and citadel where Celts, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors successively held sway has knockout views of the Alfama.
Beautiful view from different points over the city and the river of Lisboa!
Wonderful views across the city , but I was missing any sort of historic feeling when I wandered through 20th century concrete reconstructions of what used to be the historic birthplace of Lisbon .
Come here at half 9 when It opens if your a photographer and want to take clean shots without many tourists around. B careful walking along the edge of the castle as you can fall off !
Best view in the city , go there early if you wanna avoid massive lines and crowds (even if you already have your pass).
Astonishing castle . You can visit both the tower and the ruins dating from the Roman empire. Beautiful views of Lisbon .
One of the most beautiful castles ive been too. The grounds are large enough that it does not feel crowded . Note: periscope closes at 5pm so be sure get in before then.
Calm and cool in the heat. A tranquil place to wander out of the bustle of Lisbon . Stunning views . Cafe , loos and no pick pockets!
Just the view of Lisbon would be enough but it's also great to walk around the castle and explore it! It's better to go early in the morning to miss the crowd of tourists !
Earliest Lisbon settlements here in 6th cen. BCE; oldest castle remains from the Moorish era. Captured from Moors by A. Henriques in 1147. Royal residence until 1511. See views and historical tours !
It's all about the view of Lisbon , which is amazing. All that remains from the castle are the walls. 8,5 euro ticket
Even in understanding all this was reconstructed it is very impressive! Worth visit and spending 2-3 relaxing hours walking around.
Beautiful garden and view of the city . Don’t miss the peacocks around the garden .
Nice little walk up from Lisbon to an incredible view . Make it up there if you can!
Beatiful views from the park and the ramparts. Plenty of space to relax in the shade.
Amazing views over Lisbon city and the Tajo river . The castle is empty. You can only visit the walls and gardens
Nice ! While waiting in the long queue for tickets, security guard took us off the queue for a dedicated line for pregnant ladies ! Sweet ! Kids under 10 are free !
Wow, what a climb up the hills but nice to take a breather at the top.
You must visit this historical place when you are in Lisboa ! Don't miss to take a few postcards photos.
Amazing view above the city . And easier to access than other viewpoints. Inside the castle you have a cafe .
Wonderful views of Lisboa from the top of their towers. Price: 8,5€
Sincerely visiting this castle is a must! the view is amazing
Panoramic views of the city that are (IMHO) worth it. Enjoy a glass of wine at the top.
One of my fav place in Lisbon . Definitely worth every cent of the ticket you buy to access it!
Stop at the wine cart and you can walk around with a glass of wine or port
wonderful view, it is a pleasure to watch the city from other thete! - Νikko Lo
You don’t go “inside” the castle, it is mostly ruins, but it’s fun to trek through. Also the peacocks are amazing! - Katherine
Amazing palace, huge.. i went there to see an exhibition, which was quite amazing some designs but unfortunately i didn't had the chance to see more from the palace but i will go back again. for sure - RuteSalvadinho
Very quiet, peaceful palace just on the edge of Central Lisbon. Beautiful tile work and formal gardens - Julian Sims
This place is absent from most guides. You can visit it in about 30 mins and will have a nice view on Lisboa - Thomas Charles
