Chai tow kway : From Song Zhou Luo Bo Gao (yeah, it's a mouthful) #01-37. It looks messy (we ordered d 'white' version) but boy, It was yumz! They even hv prawn & squid toppings (pay xtra)
Song Zhou Luo Bo Gao : One of the best black carrot cake i've tried in SG so far, sinfully good! ????
Clean hawker center with over 60 options including vegetarian choices . Most stalls give a good sized plate for about $3 to $4. Right next to the bedok MRT.
Goreng pisang & curry puff . Enjoyed the fried snacks at Lee Kee #01-61. Stall uses ripe bananas . Coated with light crispy batter. Curry puff had a mushy, instead of chunky, potato filling. $1 each
#stervylicious #kwaychap - best Sunday to all.. Decided To try the kwaychap stall. Think they do deserve the BEST 5 local awards :)
#stervylicious #meepok - decided to try this stall co o the consisent queue. must try ! - Teo's Noodle/#01-06(those who frequent bedok will definitely knows this stalll well :p)
Fried Hokkien Mee . Competent plate from Gim Chew #01-50. Very wet & light style, including its chilli sauce . Would prefer a thicker prawn stock. $4.50 with 2 mid-sized prawns
Local desserts . Happy Dessert #01-20 has decent ah balling(4 rice balls in peanut soup , $2.50). Tau suan ($1.30) was watery; too much starchy paste, not enough mung beans , plus an aftertaste
That's a multi-storey carpark connected. If you park from level 3A onwards, it is sheltered access all the way via lift lobby A
#stervosharing #ipohhorfun - Best Day!!! If you like to play safe, then their wanton noodles must try :p - PohKee traditional wanton noodles/#01-24.
Lor Mee . The "Prawn Noodle " signage can be misleading. Mei Xiang 01-57 unsuspectingly serves up a yummy bowl. Tasty sauce
Did u know? Bedok is derived from the Malay word for drum ("bedoh"). The drum was used in "pre-loudspeaker days" at the mosque to sound out a call to Muslims for prayer time. Source: Infopedia
Curry chicken noodles . Delicious bowl from Hock Hai 01-58. Sweet & not excessively spicy . Stall also sells satay beehoon
Curry Chicken noodle at 01-57 Hock Hai is tasty, fairly thick soup . With brown noodle option. $4-5 big bowl
Glad I was curious to walk out of Bedok Mall to check out this newly re-opened spacious food centre with high ceiling . Lots of snacks choices for da-bao to a meeting at a house nearby.
Chicken rice stall nearer the road , besides a Thai stall.. must try fried toufu from that stall too. (Even though it's not the picture I uploaded)
Crispy banana fritters in two different sizes. One of the few snack stalls which sell fried chempedak!
Teo's Noodle #01-26 is nothing to shout abt. Order the $4 size if u want some clams w ur bowl of noodles . Separate bowl of mediocre items (fishball, meatball , fishcake slices, boiled minced pork )
Nasi Lemak #01-34. Average. While chilli was sweet & spicy , rice had little coconut fragrance. Fried chicken wing was oily. And it was difficult to eat with chopsticks & soup spoon, the only cutleries
TFF Boneless Chicken Rice . Only $10 for a half chicken complete with condiments and 2 bowls of rice . Rice is flavorfully fragrant with an authentic chilli ! Don't be fooled by the rest of the fakes!
Minced pork noodles (bak chor mee ). Quan Ji #0-44 is a popular stall for breakfast . Overall bowl was average, with factory-made fishball being salty, fishcake slices too firm
Teo's Noodles ! #01-26. Not into clams , nor a fishball fanatic, so bought the $3/- version, which is nice on its own.
The zhui kway is tremendously good. There's always a line especially on Sundays and public holidays like National Day. Ask to separate the gravy sauce if you're eating it later. Stays fresh that way.
Chwee kueh: Stall #01-19 served them fast & surgical. D rice base was chewy. 'Chai por' (chopped preserved radish ) topping is 1 of d better 1s, but cannot beat Tiong Bahru :-)
The nasi lemak is delicious! This stall is at the corner along the same row as Tiong Bahru Pau; it's not facing the road .
ATMs. Cash machine here is for UOB. Nearby Blk 204: OCBC; Blk 207: POSB; Bedok Mall : BOC, UOB, Citibank; bus interchange: UOB
Chwee kueh (steamed rice cakes ) are pillowy soft. Perhaps too soft for me that it lacks a bite
The new hawker centre supposedly is on the tray return scheme but still needs to have cleaners to clean up. Now wired up by Wireless@SG at a pretty gd speed!
Newly renovated, comfortable and nice hawker place.
