Quesadillas + crack sauce (or any sauces from their sauce bar ) is beyond win. One of the best Mexican joints period (coming from a girl who lived in So Cal). Worth the trek and don't forget cash.
High on the tasty scale. I love the house-made salsa . It ain't exactly California, but it reminds me of old haunts on Valencia in SF.
The chicken taco was greeeeeat! And so was the grapefruit soda....however, it's a bit pricey for a taco joint...more bang for your buck if you get a Burritto!! They huge!!!
Tasty stuff, with excellent carne asada . But they rolled my burrito the wrong way, so I ended up with all meat when I started and all rice at the end.
Their rolled quesadillas are redonk delish. And $3 happy hour beers (9-11pm) make it a perfect and budget-friendly dinner . Awesome staff . A+ music . I love this place.
Everything is always good as usual but the whole place smells like a toilet . There must be something wrong with the plumbing. It makes it hard to seat in the place and eat.
Carne Asada Burrito is one of the best I've had in NYC. And I'm from SoCal, so I know my burritos !
Hard not to go wrong with a Baja fish burrito , which you can't acquire at any of their carts throughout the city .
The wait could be considerable for a taco because of the volume of delivery orders this place gets. But it is typically worth it, and probably the best Mexican in the area.
If you like the restaurant , try the band! The poster in their bathroom is from indie darlings Calexico.
Get the guac . It's a good size for two. Chips are very fresh and tasty.
Get the pulled chicken in pumpkin seed sauce is off the charts. Get it w/ Black Beans , No Rice + Guacamole . You cannot go wrong. Don't be put off by the hip atmosphere , the staff here is friendly . Read more
Crack fries n fish burrito absolutely outstanding. Hope you wore a diaper. You are going to need it for more than one reason.
Chicken burritos are great, add sour cream . Quesadillas are cheesy and delicious. Get crack sauce .
Congrats, you found this place! Now get yourself the gringo (ground cumin beef ) rolled quesadilla you deserve.
Top billing goes to the carne asada . With flavor so intense, it‘s hard to justify ordering anything else. That said, the pulled pork and pollo asado (grilled chicken ) are also excellent. Read more
Everything on the menu is amazing! Flavorful, authentic , and filling.
Um. Everything. Super fresh ingredients . Super Flavors. Never had a bad thing here.
Date #16, Elizabeth: Tasty carne asada . Huge selection of salsas and hot sauces . Prepare for a decent wait, though—while they might be brick-and-mortar, their wait times are reminiscent of a cart.
Fave local spot ! Burritos when you're super hungry and light tasty salads post work out. Baller.
Supplying SoHo with South-of-the-Border delicacies every weekday. Swing by early, since many of the specialties – particularly the namesake skirt steak – sell out faster than you can say Ixtapaluca.
one of the best mexican restaurants in the city . The taco are phenomenal and the watermelon juice is really refresing.
Get the fish taco , so good and it has mangos on top
The quesadillas with chipotle pulled pork are incredibly delicious.
Love the Baja burrito and gringo tacos
Yum yum Mexcian food! The quesadillas are so awesome and make sure to get the crack sauce !
Carne Asada bowl with extra cheese and crack sauce ????????
As a Yankee, I always though grits were kinda disgusting, so Calexico's Anson Mills grits were a minor revelation - be sure and try them.
Three tacos (pollo , carne, pulled pork ) make a nice dinner . Lately loving the black bean burrito . Comes with crack sauce . Salads are also nice, better enjoyed eat-in.
The Baja burrito (fried tilapia ) is excellent.
Go for the Carne Asada . Get some grits too.
They no longer have beer on tap , thus no more $3 pints of Bengali. Such a bummer, I don't come here nearly as often anymore.
Stop in and try the Calexico Signature Brown Ale by Sixpoint . Draft beers are half price between 9-11pm. They also fill growlers ! Read more
Most of the menu quite good, but beware can sometimes take a while to get your food. Also, pumpkin seed arbol salsa FTW.
Pollo asada tacos are pretty good. Has a nice flavor
Happy Hour 9-11pm $3 drafts .
Awesome food, Sixpoint Bengali Tiger on tap and Hot Snakes on the stereo. It doesn't get any better.
Man cannot live by carne asada alone. Sixpoint crafts the hoppy, unflitered "El Barrio" exclusively for Calexico. Read more
If you're a normal human being, two tacos are more than enough. They are big and saucy.
You know that kickass Mexican food cart in Soho? Well ... they have a restaurant en route to IKEA with the best burritos in NYC. Ask for the 'crack sauce '.
Just go for the tacos . They are all awesome. Really good guacamole too!
quesadilla rules, don't forget the amazing side sauces!
Try the raw salsa verde and the pumpkin seed arbol at the salsa bar .
rolled Quesadilla with crack sauce is tasty! love this little place. made to order.
Steak or Chicken burritos with crack sauce ! You're welcome.
Come between 9-11PM for $3 Draft Happy Hour
Only open till 11:00 PM, NOT 2 AM as the foursquare listing states . Many a disappointed, hungry soul has discovered this the hard way on Columbia St.
The rolled quesidilla with the crack sauce is extremely addicting. I'd come from Queens to get it.
It's called Calexico Carne Asada for a reason -- the meat is cooked perfectly. Get the tacos !
Burrito . All day everyday. Best things on the menu.
Great service awesome food. Drinks that you can't say no to. Well worth a visit. - James C
