The Balinese long-tailed monkeys are the primary attraction at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, but also enjoy the natural beauty of the park grounds and the three temples constructed around 1350.
Be smart if you buy bunches of bananas to feed the monkeys and do NOT break the bananas in half. The monkeys know the difference & the more aggressive ones may bite if they're not happy with a half.

Dont forget to buy banana and dont worry, the monkeys are semi-wild n some ofthem are very friendly ! Oops dont bring food otherwise you will be the main attraction . Not the monkeys 😜
Monkeys are cool, but you can see those on the street outside. What I didn't expect was a really beautiful eco park inside! Compete with river , temples , and tons of rain forest plants.
Very special place in Ubud, a natural forest sanctuary, home of some very playful and (mostly) friendly macaques monkey . There's also some small temples and some very cool statues
MWe are really traumatized but unlike the monkeys we encountered in Uluwatu, the monkeys we found in Ubud are well-behaved. The place is a highly-maintained habitat and a tranquil place to stroll.
Very magical forest , and the monkeys are funny 😂 , the shops near the forest are very nice , you must visit this place . They close at 6:30 or 7 pm
If you sit on a bench , a monkey would jump@on your lap and go through your pockets :) You should at lst spend an hour! I’ve seen several monkeys stealing people’s glasses and cigarettes from theirbags
Beautiful place to walk around just be careful, watch out for the monkeys - one ended up in my bag. There are guards scattered around who can help out if needed or you can pay them to get a photo op
The monkeys are very cheeky and very used to humans. They know what zips are. Having a monkey on your back is amazing and to see them so close up is something you won’t forget 😊
Beautiful forest with old trees and river . You can feel so calm here, the spiritual atmosphere and earth you can find it here... Be careful with the monkeys , sometimes they took your things...
Such an AMAZING experience! Beautiful scenery and monkeys running everywhere. A must do in ubud. The monkeys wont bother you unless you interact with them & have food
A loot of monkey wander arround you. They're good so don't be scared. Just don't touch them or they'll bite you & don't bring any food on your bag. They've a good smell, they'll 'rob' you for sure ;p
The most beautiful park in Bali. Be sure to visit the lower temple by the river and see the komodo statues . I don't recommend buying bananas or getting close to the monkeys , for the risk of rabies.
So much fun! I want to go back already. Just be aware of your surroundings with the monkeys and you should be fine. And always stay calm .
The park , the monkeys , the temples , the architecture and sculptures ... And most importantly - it's in Ubud - it's definitely worth visiting!
Fun... kind of terrifying because monkeys are real and wild. Follow the rules— don’t hold the monkeys or leave your stuff unattended. We saw monkeys bite people who didn’t take it seriously.
Nice place to visit but scary. Too many monkeys , you should be careful for your things. Don't miss it, it's definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful place, walking around the forest is a bit tiring with the heat, monkeys are quite friendly but be careful some tend to be aggressive if they see food in ur hands
Fell in love with monkeys . Would love to come back here and spend more time! The forest itself is also very nice!
Although one of the most touristy places in Bali it is still a must do. Monkeys are nice and not aggressive, lots of them everywhere
Good place to visit in Ubud. Watch out, the monkeys will try to catch everything from your backpack. Anyway you can take amaizing pictures
You can see many monkeys here... but watch out your belonging, the monkey can steal your things, especially food/snack that you bring..
Don't take pics too close to the monkeys or aggravate them. They will jump on you and bite. If you respect their space - you're in for a treat. This is a very special place.
Beautiful forest with a temple . Keep some distance from the monkeys and don’t feed them. They were quite chill but though.
Enjoy the wide-eyed baby monkeys and stunning old forest (a la middle earth). Take every precaution to not engage with adult monkeys .
It's a great historical place. You can explore the temples and enjoy time with monkeys . They are friendly . It's fun and save.
Amazing day with the monkeys . They are everywhere. Bananas cost more than the entry though. Must go when you're in Bali.
One amusing and interesting place with so funny monkeys , that was my first experience when one Monkey touch my Tshirt 😁👍🙉🙈🙊
Forest at the town are very unique and so many monkey but cool . Nice to see temple inside jungle . Back to nature and culture .
They can be aggressive so be a bit cautious and don't bring food or water with you. It's definitely a Must Visit spot!
dont stop monkey ing around! the monkeys are lovely and the walk in the forest super with great temples and scenery!
One of our favorite stops in Ubud. Hundreds of monkeys and they walk right by you! Very cool. Don’t look them in the eyes. 👀
This is a real jungle in the center of Ubud, a feeling as if you're in Jurassic Park :) And monkeys are very cute :) They tried to steal my hair barrette milking
Def the main highlight of my trip. You really get up close and personal with the monkeys here and they're not shy to jump onto you and poke you all over with their tiny soft fingers.
If you're good with the monkeys , they're good with you. Be careful with your belongings. I had a monkey climb on to me while I had biscuits in my hand, just ask one of the Pak there.
Pretty good experience. 20k for adults. Monkeys were behaving on my visit as I read stories of some biting I was a bit apprehensive on visiting in the first place.
Don't hide bananas from monkeys - they can smell it and will jump on you amd scratch you. Place is definitely a must visit!
Don't hide bananas under your clothes ! The monkeys can smell it and they'll grab it from you! A monkey jump on my head while I was peeling a banana open and he ate it while stayed on my shoulders!! 😲
Good walk along a forest reserve which has temples , a river rapids cutting through and lots of playful monkeys . Follow the rules at entry and it is a peaceful walk.
Beautiful hidden park in the centre of Ubud. Monkeys running everywhere, don't go here if you are afraid of monkeys ;)
We spend a nice couple of hours observing monkeys and trying interact with them much as possible... Very funny! :)
Don’t bring in food, the monkeys zip open your bag! Follow the rules cause yes they’re cute but still wild animals
Becarful of the monkeys they tend to pee/shit on you
More than 125 flora species and 300 monkeys inhabit the 10-hectare forest area which is made sacred by people of Padangtegal Village , Ubud.
Just use common sense when you are visiting this area.Yes,monkeys are cute but they are wild animals. So if you don't want to get harrassed by them don't treat them like your pet .
No need to buy bananas at the front in order to get up close and personal with the monkeys . I had a monkey get quite attached...literally to my skirt . He grabbed it and wouldn't let it go
The monkeys are a ton of fun! Don't be scared, they're playful without being even slightly dangerous and great with the tourists .
Best time to visit: late afternoons or evenings when the weather is cooler and lighting for photos is perfect, especially with the changing colours of the skyline. A must visit for those visiting Ubud - Gary Hor
