Columbus Statue is a sculpture garden Astoria located in United States.
Columbus Triangle Astoria , NY 11102 United States
The striking bronze statue of Columbus was unveiled in 1941, but there wasn't enough money for a base. It spent WW2 in the basement of Borough Hall, hidden so it wouldn't be recycled for scrap metal.
Also, check out the bronze plaque 50 feet north; it was placed in 1937 as a placeholder for the eventual statue .
By far the best Columbus statue in NYC.
