An abandoned landfill until 1986, Mark di Suvero and a coalition of artists were able to create an open space for artists to display their work. Check out the Greenmarket here Saturdays between 8am-4!

Long Island City ’s most popular open lawn, playing host to summer film screenings, weekend green markets , and Hallet Cove’s most scenic canoe push-off point.

The non-permanent art sculpture installations here invite public interaction and the open space of the park allows you to sit, stand, lie down, take a nap, and just live alongside the art for a while.

"tree wood" won Socrates Sculpture Park's "Folly" competition, which challenges architects and designers to build large-scale outdoors projects. On view through March 2014.
