Very traditional udon spot. The broth is what makes it amazing here. I had the beef and shrimp tempura udon and it was delicious. Add a raw egg on there if you're feeling adventurous.
Very affordable and delicious. Hostess gives zero fucks, but she means well . Wait to be seated. The simmered beef and tempura shrimp udon is super tasty and goes well with a mug of Sapporo .
New for summer 2018 (and, we all hope hereafter): a $12.50 sashimi set that’ll make your heart melt and your stomach shiver. Order it with a raw egg in the udon .
Compared to other udon west in Manhattan, here's the best other than any place! Curry udon is amazing x-x i think the noodle is the main difference! Amazingly good
Of course the udon , but I legit love their curry . Whether in the soup , on the side or with a chicken katsu . It’s very good.
Yummy, simple, and cheap udon . I got combo with a spicy tuna don last time, and I would do it again and again. Also a plus, it's open late enough for a midnight snack .
Gyōza set was good for the dumplings but i wish it came with less plain ramen . Use the spice to add heat. Next time i will try the curry .
Order an R2D2 which is not only a ton of fun to say to the waiter , but also a great pork ramen lunch with a soda of your choice!
I recommend sharing the kimchi soba and curry soba . Both are great but the curry might be too rich/flavorful to have on your own.
Hot Udon noodles and a Sapporo Special Reserve , perfect filling and delicious late-night comfort food .
Udon is average but its worth to come in that this place has various Japanese comfort food menus other than udon , like Don and Curry . Staffs are not kind or friendly at all tho. Cash only .
Great sets. Super friendly staff . Good food and portions. Take out is my fav it's real quick and you will enjoy it more at home
Their soft and chewy udon paired for a large variety of other solid offerings like curry or spicy tuna and tofu is the best during the winter
This is one of those places that is so cheap yet so good that you just don't feel right paying $10 for that yummy in your tummy. Tip 200% and walk out a respectable man.
Cold tofu and spicy tuna is a taste of piquant heaven. The textures work together amazingly. Dipping the tofu in just a little bit of soy sauce elevates the dish to a whole 'nother level.
Cheap and fills you up and so good. Tempura udon . Light broth great noodles . Shrimp , carrot , sweet potato , green pepper tempura
The combo platters are the best. A generous bowl of authentic Japanese udon (or at least I hope so) and a good portion entree of your choice. Oh and it's under $10.
I had the shrimp and beef udon noodles . Also ordered the small curry with rice . Both were delicious. The beef was generous and quite tasty. My new spot now in St Marks instead of Taishos Yakitori .
Super cheap Japanese food . Fast service ; a small restaurant that gets crowded during peak dining hours. Cash only !
Chige nabe udon . Lunch special combos are good too! Fun to sit at the bar .
Cant really go wrong with any of the combos on the back of the menu. Don't forget. Cash only .
Katsu curry is actually great. Taste nothing like typical packaged curry or even a lot of other Japanese restaurant curries .
I almost w always get the "curry set " it's a great value ...
Great place to cure the occasional hangover. Also a great restaurant .
The gyu-don udon set is mighty tasty. It's like yoshinoya on steroids, which I know doesn't sound all that appealing, but trust me, you'll enjoy it sober or drunk.
Soup combo with spicy tuna hits the spot on a cold night. Great solo or with a group.
Simple and delightful. Your stomach will smile all the way home. Cash only .
Get a combination set. The curry one is delicious but you really can't go wrong with any of them.
Curry set is great value and delicious, as is the katsu-don. Feel free to pour yourself as much water as you want from the filter across from the bar .
I can never choose between the spicy tuna set and the karaage set.. I love them both so much.
Go around 4pm to avoid long lines and get the spicy tuna and udon combo. Inhaled that shit!
Authentic Japanese Udon bar . Curry or udon , you can't go wrong
Curry Set . One of the softest udon I've had in NYC
Favorite place for japanese curry in combination with a casual bowl of udon .
Try the Gyudon Set - The best ever! (via @Foodspotting)
Add $2 shrimp tempura to your udon ! The combo may look small on the menu but it is a plenty of food for one.
I recommend their karee (curry ) dishes (specially katsukaree) and gyuudon.
The karage (fried chicken ) udon is great.
Chigenabe udon is my favorite (I’ve also tried the nabeyaki udon )
This is where you go for the best noodles , open way late too. They're also great at frying up Gyoza just oh-so-right.
The udon and currys are on point. Autentic and good for a quick meal .
delicious, but make sure you specify which veggies you want in your udon or you'll end up with none.
Delicious udon - I get the nabeyaki, but anything's good. And get the cold tofu and tuna appetizer .
Great simple udon . Spicy tuna don set is perfect. Really nice staff .
A good value . $10 for a bowl of ramen plus curry and rice , it's like two meals in one! Also, open til 4am.
Curry don udon combo or spicy tuna don udon combo. I've never EVER had anything but a great meal here.
My favorite dish is the Kalbi set. Best beef & noodle combo!!!!
Curry Udon is amazing! Nice and spicy !
Great value . Yummy udon . My favorite is the katsudon .
Chicken katsu donburi , curry , and Japanese beer on tap .
Their udon noodles are really special, and if you can handle it, add mochi because it is huge and chewy!!! - Kyulee Seo
The bento box is a great way to try an assortment of food and they're homemade noodles. The sweet potato is bomb. - Susie Yin
Green tea lava cake! And the honey condensed toast! Can't go wrong with either. - Linda Chow
