This was my fave restaurant during my lastest trip there. The oysters are HUGE. I had a dozen raw all to myself. Chargrilled oysters are life changing. Bloody Mary was topped with shrimp and oysters .
It's all about the chargrilled oysters . Truly amazing. Raw oysters are great too but mainly serve as a contrast that highlights how delicious the chargrilled ones are!
The oysters here where the best! We ended up having two dozen and we also had the shots with oysters in them that were phenomenal....skip the line at Acme & go to Felix's
The place was great, the oysters were good and the waitress Linda was incredibly!! nice. However, the prices were steep and the chargrilled oysters really just tasted chargrilled without the oyster
Directly across the street from Acme, sharing a similar neon sign, Felix's is a bit less crowded , a touch less touristy and offers up fatty and fresh oysters on the half shell.
Good oysters . Be careful about those “market price” tags they can be a shocker when the check comes ($20 for a po boy or for fried crab ) service was absolutely amazing though (shoutout to Linda ????????)
Everything was sold out sadly when we were here. That ending said the shrimp boil was good. Bloody Marys were fantastic! Jambalaya was very good, broiled oyster and raw were good too!
Oh Felix. This is definitely a have to visit restaurant here in the French quarter. The chargrilled oysters are to die for. The crawfish étouffée has so much flavor it is just perfect.
Instantly got a seat when we didn't have time to wait in line at Acme . Oysters are delicious and they've got every po' boy imaginable.
Awesome grilled oysters , and solid other local dishes too (we especially enjoyed shrimp & grits ). Saves you an hour in the Acme line (which I'd still do sometimes too)
Raw oysters are served Sans-plates, ON the bar , and without any vinaigrette . Lemons and horseradish are self-serve. Chargrilled oysters , red beans , and blackened gator are recommended.
Ask for Izzy at the bar . He is the best! He’ll hook you up with what’s good and must haves. Crawfish is awesome and the blackened gator is a definitely must have!!
Would definitely recommend the chargrilled oyster ! After 2nd failing to get into Acme Restaurant , we found this great restaurant with exceptionally good food! Loved it!
My favorite restaurant in the world. The crab fingers are amazing. The grilled oysters are fantastic. Always a must if I am in New Orleans.
The Blackened Alligator AND the Chart Oysters (grilled with garlic and parm cheese )are a must. By far my favorites in NOLA.
Had half a dozen of oysters and the bayou platter (jambalaya , gumbo , & red beans and rice ). I recommend sitting in the bar as the service is better and the oystermen are good fun. Will be coming back.
Sit at the bar , chat with Keith as he shucks directly onto the counter, and definitely try the chargrilled oysters - so amazing. Best oysters we had in our time in NOLA.
Did someone say chargrilled oysters ? Order more than you think you need or want. Bayou sampler platter was banging! Same with the shrimp and roast beef po boys !
Across the street from Acme, I couldn't believe that I liked Felix's more ! No extremely long line . Delicious chargrilled oysters .. Sit at the bar and have fun with the Down to earth staff .
Lots of ways to have oysters . Chargrilled were great, Bienville good, shoulda tried buffalo. Saw plates of shucked raw oysters stacked on top of each other, ready to go out, which seems sketch.
Fresh oysters and every type of po' boy . Fast service and huge portions . I recommend the fried oyster po' boy (duh).
Some of the best seafood in New Orleans, been coming here for over 20 years, always our first stop when we get to New Orleans.
All I know is that the chargrillef oysters are great, the staff are fun, and the price is right. Note that the far side of the restaurant near the grill gets a bit toasty .
I love how the oysters get shucked and slapped on the bar directly I front of you. No plate nothing belly up to the bar and slide them back.
Stop by for a roast beef po'boy. The service was fantastic, the food ridiculously good. Perfect for a low-key lunch .
Chargrilled oysters are terrific. Generally a much shorter wait than Acme (also good) on the other side of the road .
Grab a seat at the bar - you'll beat the queue! Grab yourself a dozen juicy chargrilled oysters and a cup of jumbalaya and you're ready for more drinks!
Raw oysters , char-grilled oysters , oyster bienville- all amazing! And the bloody Mary's are great too!
Skip the line at Acme in favor of Felix's, where you can get oysters on the half shell and fried gator . Read more
Duh, the fresh shucked oysters , of course! Sit at the bar and watch your delicacies shucked by the best.
Ok chargrilled oysters at Felix's are heaven. They are topped with a perfect amount of parm , bread crumbs , black and white pepper . So freakin good!
The breading is a bit weirder than other places, but the oysters are spot on. For the best chance to try a little of everything, get a half po boy and a side.
Get the sweet potato fries . Best I've ever had. The gumbo , wedge salad and Ofcourse the oysters are amazing too!
Chargrilled oysters are fantastic. Don't miss the gumbo . Sit at the bar and get a few free fresh shucked oysters !
Felix definitely wins the acme vs Felix duel! Gotta get the chargrilled oysters and the cocktail sauce from the raw oysters is to finger-lickin good!!!!
I think it was just the chef for the day because our order had to be remade 3 times. The 3rd time the manager made our char-grilled oysters and they were perfect.
Long line at Acme , so we went to Felix's. We sat at the bar and the raw oysters and shrimp po boy were both excellent. Next time I think I'll stand at the bar and eat 'em as they shuck 'em!
Go. Get there as fast as you can. The place is unassuming in appearance but unbelievable in flavor. Grilled oysters are mind blowing!
Loved this place. Split the seafood platter - but get it blackened instead of fried. Flavors are awesome - especially the blackened oysters .
Before eating here, my husband and I hated oysters . After having their chargrilled oysters , we can't get enough. Do yourself a favor and get a dozen. Get two dozen. You're welcome.
Went with everyones recommendation of Charbroiled Oysters . They were amazing! A must if you're going to be in NOLA!
We were in and out, food came fast and was delicious! Definitely better than standing in line at Acme !
If there's a queue, ask to sit at the bar . It's quicker and you get to see the shucking!
Amazing grilled and fried oysters . Skip the the raw ones. Ordered the fried soft shell crab which was delicious too.
Decent prices, casual atmosphere , YUMMY oysters (we got them on the half shell), and delicious bread pudding (we split one order). Caution: Their horseradish is POTENT, it *will* kick your butt!
The food was just so-so. Everything came out fast but at room temperature. However, the drinks were outstanding! Try the Zulu Margarita . It’s wonderful
Any of the oysters are great but the chargrilled were the best. Soft shell crab was also delicious!
Fantastic oysters ...the chargrilled oysters are less grilled then acme...so acme v felix will depend on your preference
Char-grilled oysters are amazing! Must get them! Ettoufée is also delicious!
ON THE HALF-SHELL (Fresh Gulf Coast Oysters Served With Cocktail Sauce )
Charbroiled oysters! Also lobster mac, shrimp and grits, and shrimp & eggplant stack - Molly Miller
Aligator & Seafood Gumbo, BBQ Oysters, Fillet, and Hickory grilled Redfish are all very good! - David Sequeira
Great atmosphere and drinks. Food was great, blackened drum(fish), red beans and rice. Would recommend to everyone to give it a try. - Robert Cottrell
Always good! Don't bother getting expensive dessert at your fancy restaurant. Stop by here for after dinner coffee and beignets. Cheap and delicious! Cash only! - nobodys business
Great spot with cool rustic decor. Had a street band outside! - Lauren Elle
