Great location when the tide's in, and one of the biggest selection of real ales in Leigh-Southend. Staff are always friendly , and the fish and chips is highly rated (I just come here for the beers ).

Fish and chips are ok, but very expensive and long queues straight into the road when the weathers nice. Try Simply Seafood at the other end of Old Leigh (under the bridge ) for nicer fish and chips .

Small pub with a small selection of beers . Not great, but the staff are friendly and fish and chips come straight from the fish & chip shop at the front.

Traditional easy going pub, family friendly and even let dogs in. Usually a good atmosphere despite a real mix of people. Seem to have live music regularly. Food can take a while or run out when busy. - R S
