Probably the best view in Edinburgh. Central location and 287 stairs up gives you a view of pretty much everything. Well worth going all the way to the top. Be prepared for narrow circular staircases

Shamsa Abdulrahman

View is so worth it! Not for ppl afraid of heights & narrow/closed spaces or can't climb stairs. Don't go if it's crowded , it's extremely scary getting stuck on the stairs trying to have ppl pass by.

Samantha Smiley

Be ready for a climb! It's 287 steps and most don't have rails. Also, if you have broad shoulders or are a curvier lady (like myself) be warned the 4th or top staircase is narrow. Worth every step !

Jimmy Angelakos

Edinburgh's landmark . If you visit, make sure you are OK with climbing lots of stairs and tiny cramped spaces

Adriel Mingo

Not for the faint of heart or the claustrophobic ! But the views are brilliant. Other nice views can found elsewhere without the bother or cramped space

Yarn Lam

£8 per adult entry for guided small group tour (12 pax max) up to the top for great views of Edinburgh . Tour time every 30 mins. It’s 221 steps but broken down into 3x manageable 60-odd steps .

Sheel Kohli

Climb it! Squeeze past the narrow top bit for stunning views of Edinburgh and reflect on Scotland's most famous writer.

Manahil Aleem

Loved the place. Must see when in Edinburgh. Read up and on its history and take loads of pictures, all part if the experience :)

Bryan Apple

Memorable views , worth the climb to the top.

Lukasz Fidosz

The view from top is amazing! Long spiral stairs (gets pretty narrow at some points) to get there, well worth though.

Daniel Demjanovic

Definately worthy to climb up for 4 pounds. Not to recommend to people ho are afrais of hights. Great view !

Heather Tumshi

If you pay £3 you get a certificate saying you climbed 287 steps to the top. The views are stunning just make sure you go on a clear day and take a camera .

Erika Robbins

There is very little space up top, so get your photos and head back down. No point hogging it so others can't even get off the stairs.

Christina Argiropoulou

Realy windy upstairs but dont miss it... The view is amazing

Carrie Anne Walton

Don't try and go all the way to the top if you're on the larger or taller side, the corridors get very narrow and quite low as you reach the top.

Amaury J

Beautiful monument . You have to pay £5 and its cash only .

JJ Ying

The view on top was really really gorgeous! Definitely worth climbing!

Peter Sigrist

Amazing view but don't bother if it's busy (e.g. During the Festival ) until they invent a traffic-light system because you'll get stuck by crowds of claustrophobic amateurs.

Such a unique and beautiful monument . I find it more impressive from a distance.

Catherine Reynolds

Not good for people with fear of small places as higher you climb the smaller the staircase gets. Brilliant views over city . Worth it for £4

Stefan Mirea

Awesome view . 300 steps with a couple of stops on the way up. Definitely Worth checking out

Carl Griffin

Climb to the top. You will not be disapointed with the view .

Megan Sherer

The largest monument to a writer in the world!

It's great that the Scots erect monuments for authors. Just outside the train station .

My favorite monument in Edinburgh.

Kelan

Genuinely terrified. The stairway is a lot to handle. Worth doing though.

Mauro Daneluzzi

A little bit dirty and in the middle of the main street, the park is cute

Amber D

So fun but not for those who don't like enclosed spaces or the weak.

Laila ????

Big monument dedicated to someone!

Carlos deA

Vale la pena subir hasta arriba para admirar las increíbles vistas. La escalera es muy angosta en algunos tramos, pero hay "descansillos" durante la subida.

Luis Urea

Es muy alto e impresionante
