Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium

This place is the best aquarium I’ve visited. Indoor/outdoor, hands-on exhibits , really diverse population of sea life . Manatees , crocs, otters , turtles , fish , sharks, etc. Great for families.

A website said it's take 2 hours tops but we definitely could have used about 3 to see everything well . We didn't get to see the birds! It's a great little trip to make in a vacation. We loved it.

Great sea life exhibits . Boat trip was a bit too much for our 3 year old grandson. More appropriate for nature loving kids a few years older (7 - 12).

15 minutes from USF Sarasota campus. Research center and aquarium concerned with sharks and dolphins. Offers kayaking and boat tours as well as other exhibits and encounters. Good for photo ops. 

All the volunteers are well informed and helpful. They took a lot of time to explain each and everyone of the exhibits . The aquarium lighting makes it great for photography (flash not allowed).

The whole thing was very educational and fun. The manatees are a trip to watch, so cute ! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable .

Lots of cool exhibits . The cuttlefish tank is really neat- I could spend all day there.

THEY HAVE A GIANT SQUID ON DISPLAY!!! Plus they breed jellyfish and that's amazing to me!!!

They have reciprocal agreements with a lot of zoos across the country , so bring your zoo pass for a discount on admission!

Good aquarium overall but not sure it’s worth the price. $98 for a family of four!?!?!? I think around $40 for all four of us is more in line .

Fantastic aquarium - wonderful manatees , dolphin, and sea turtles . Catch the training sessions if you can.

great aquarium--just the right size. love to see the big turtles and sea manatees . have taken boat and kayak 1/2 day trips...beautiful kayaking through the mangroves...educational

Mote Marine Laboratory is famous for its sharks, dolphins and manatees . On Tuesdays children can wade into the waters and explore marine life up close and personal.

For only $90 you can become a member of Mote Marine and visit with up to 3 guests as many times as you like all year long! Plus there's a list of reciprocals like MOSI and the Florida Aquarium !

Kids love it, but it's crowded and kind of sad. But the new otter exhibit is fantastic.

Awesome aquarium ! Not like the big fancy places but they have lost see and do. Only takes 2hrs tops.

Don't miss out on this amazing place. .. especially the turtles across the street!

Membership is a great value , you can use reciprocals at other attractions .

An aquarium first, and then a tourist attraction second - which is how it should be.

Child care provided! (Well , as long as your kids can't escape the turtle nets) Kids get tangled, mom and dad head to Salty Dog for a drink! Best parent award! ;)

Most of the facility is outdoors, be prepared for the current weather conditions.

Not the most exciting aquarium but it was entertaining and all the employees seemed to be very helpful and friendly !

Everything is fantastic

There is a boardwalk, playground , fishing piers and picnic tables at the end of City Island . After visiting Mote, check out Ken Thompson Park .
