Okonomi does Williamsburg proud with waste-free Japanese lunch and exotic ramen  dinner . The set menu always involves a bowl of rice and miso soup , the veggie accompaniments vary seasonally. Read more

Great Japanese breakfast . Set menu for $29 (no tipping) includes delicious miso soup , rice , choice of fish (roasted tuna belly was great) and a few tiny veggie sides, all very refined and tasty

Eater

The crowd here is younger, where small groups and couples are mulling over bowls of uni miso mazemen in the evening and Japanese breakfast during the day.

AmateurConcierge

Transport yourself to Tokyo. Tiny little spot that serves a fish centric Japanese lunch set during the day (pictured) and mazeman and ramen by night

Emily Wilson

Japanese breakfast here is one of the most special food experiences you can have in this city . Tranquil atmosphere, spectacular food, and thoughtful service. Don't miss the tea shop , Kettl, upstairs.

Mara Lecocq

Really great quaint place that serves Japanese breakfast around lunch and ramen in the evening. Seats 12. The wait is unreal but it's worth it. Go there at 10 am or after 10 pm to avoid a 2-hr wait.

Aline Velter

The Ichiju Sansai was perfect. It was my first time trying the Japanese Breakfast Set and I started very well . Can’t wait to go back.

Alex

traditional Japanese breakfast — fish option of the day, two veg , egg , multigrain rice , miso soup + optional onsen tamago. incredible food, lovely staff , and nice space. small portions, but worth it.

Hillel

Come for the fish . Lots of traditional Japanese flavors. Pre fixe breakfast under $20 - recommend skipping the egg/uni addition to the rice and using the money on the appetizer . Quick seating if solo.

Jess Naldo

Beautifully prepared traditional japanese-inspired breakfast for only $12. Don't skip on the side of brown ride topped with fresh uni and an Onsen egg . Come back for the omakase and ramen ! YUM!

Kino

Japanese set breakfast here is delicious. The main is a grilled fish , depends on day, for under $20. I highly recommend the poached egg for an extra $1. Orion beer & sake available. Ramen dinner only.

Puu Kampolratana

Went on Saturday and waited 45 mins. Got to try everything they have on the menu. $15 set menu (Trout or Blue fish ) and $18 for Tuna set. We also got the poached egg , uni, and ikura . Exellent!

Luyba Zeylikman

The set is so simple and yet so beautiful. The staff take very special care to make your dish well balanced in both texture and taste. This is one of my all time favorites.

Virginia Newman

Breakfast set is perfectly balanced- light yet hearty, flavorful and delicious. Feels like a hole-in-the-wall you could stumble across in Shinjuku. Best breakfast in Williamsburg.

Melissa Yu

Come here for brunch . Service is intimate and on point. Their method of prep and plating is 👌🏼get the poached egg to put over your rice .

Rachel Cheng

the blue fin tuna was honestly to die for. its buttery fatty texture is something i still think about to thIS DAY. amazing service, filling meal, and hoping to come again soon!! 👌👌

Sarah Spagnolo

Perfect $15 set breakfast/lunch. Choose between the daily catch. I went with tile fish (mackerel was the other option). Ramen is on the menu for dinner but I bet this tiny spot gets jammed !

Jean Tran

Amazing service. Super small and intimate space but very cozy and great vibes. Highly encourage you to listen to their suggestions regarding the dishes! Everything is amazing

Alex Robertson

breakfast is obviously the hit here but don't sleep on the mazemen ! The bacon and egg dish is absolutely delicious. This place is incredibly cute and I felt very taken care of

Stephanie Zhong

Amazing! Fresh seafood ingredients and veggie produce. A healthy japanese breakfast packed with full flavors! They do not take rsvp... so grab a book and wait in the coffee shop around the corner!

Nick Andlinger

Excellent 12 seat ramen spot. Get the sashimi platter no matter what it is. Really liked the clam lips and miso . Loved the bacon and egg mazemen .

Joe D

12 seats total. For dinner for 2, I'd recommend one ramen and one mazeman so you can try both the wet and dry noodles , respectively. Your belly will have room for something else. Like the daily sashim

Cynthia Lin

fantastic service! 6 of us + baby got there 15 mins before they opened on Sat. at 9:45am and there were already people waiting outside. They only have 12 seats and still fit us in! Best tomago ever

Natalia Cm

Set menu for breakfast . Japanese-style service, no tip needed. The place is small so the wait may be long, especially on weekends.

Sazzad Hossain

There is definitely a wait. Come early and put your name down on the wait list. Since it is a very small location, planning ahead is a must.

Borys Pierov

A unique Japanese style full-course breakfast . A bit pricey if you compare to how much it costs in Japan but is pretty good. No tipping (as in Japan). $20 deposit to sign up into the line

Scott Lee

the noodle choices are all awesome! ramen service is only available in the evenings. they also offer Japanese breakfast from 9AM-2PM everyday. Yuji's also super friendly if you get a chance to meet!

Kate

Loved. Had the standard set and added the Onsen Tomago. Highly recommend what I got and making a reservation to go.

Alex Pyatetsky

Been meaning to check it out for a while. Ambiance particularly charming, seats ~10 people. No tips accepted. Food was very nice. Subtle. Quality. Excellent execution of concept.

Connie Chiu

Simplicity at its best. Tried the Spanish mackerel which was perfectly seasoned. Side dishes are all good. They didn't have the uni and poached egg when we came 😭

Sean Howell

Japanese breakfast always feels energizing and powerful. This place is delicious. Set breakfast is 25-30. Today upgraded to collar.

Danny Nathan

Traditional Japanese bento meals. Awesome ramen . The menu/name changes based on time/day (bentos at lunch , ramen in evenings, tasting menu only weekends).

Dave S

Simple and serene. Every day there is one set meal for $9 in the traditional Japanese ichi ju san sai style, one soup and three sides with seasonal ingredients . Love it here.

Naphat Kijsamrej

Long wait but great food! Had the donburi with lightly marinated fish 🐟 , slightly sweetened soy-y brown rice and refreshing shiso .

Lauren Atkins

Puristic simplicity at its best- traditional japanese breakfast prepared with low waste cooking method. The food was tasty and embodied the thoughtfulness that went into the process.

Lane Rettig

Super friendly staff and a set menu so you only have to choose the fish . The oily, delicious blackfish was amazing.

Luke

The lunch/brunch menu is a pre fixe Japanese breakfast , complete with barley tea , a rustic chunk of fish , rice , miso and an Instagram worthy array of seasonal sides.

Tom

This is how breakfast should be. Good health food with friendly service . Very limited seating but they will take down your number and call you when a table becomes available.

Tom Walter

Authentic place with subtle flavors and great presentation.

Aditi

Best to come on a weekday to avoid waits. It’s worth it.

Penn Marchael

Fantastic breakfast ! Get there early to get a seat. Truly a special Japanese breakfast

Joseph Eyles

Everything about this place is perfect. Go for a first date, then set a date and go every other week

Mumu

A hidden gem . Quite tiny. Go there early to avoid the queue.

Jeffrey

Oatmeal and grapefruit is your idea of a healthy breakfast , ichiju sansai. 10-4 on weekends, is the set-price, seafood-centered Japanese breakfast most often encountered in posh hotels .

Tyler Reinhard

if you are reading reviews of okonomi trying to talk yourself out of a breakfast , are you crazy? just go. live a little. you'll expect more out of food afterwards.

Sarah

The daily shoyu is always so delicious and fresh. Stop in right when they open at 6pm for a quick seating. Place is tiny but atmosphere is perfect.

Jen S.

If you're going to drop $30+ on breakfast , you should do it here. Everything is perfect and you won't be sorry.

Linda Chow

One of my favorites in all of NYC! Great, fresh and healthy authentic Japanese food . Super cozy . Waiting time can be very long.

Jeremy Fisher

Transforms into Yuji Ramen in the evenings. Great sashimi starter, ramen , and mazeman
