Kosher Japanese restaurant ? I wasn’t expecting much, but this place really surprised me: the ramen was out of this world and all the appetizers were delicious. Good service also. Make a reservation .
“Shalom Japan...sounds almost like the punch line to a joke—but the married couple Aaron Israel and Sawako Okochi…are far from kidding around. At its best, their food is fusion in the truest sense.” Read more
The matzo ball ramen is very unique, but the okonomiyaki , teriyaki duck , and the challah (ahem the butter) are the winners here. Knishes are good but not in the same realm as the above.
Creative and surprisingly restrained Jewish-Japanese fusion fare from a chef couple in a sleepy corner of South Williamsburg. Don't miss the challah baked with sake kasu.
This.is.officially.my.favorite.restaurant . And I’m picky as f***. delicious & unique. Service was on point. Highly recommend the “weird” sake flight, ramen , and bread pudding .
Okinomiyaki is pretty good for app and the ramen with matzo is fine, but i dunno if i call it ramen..more like chicken noodle soup with hint of asian? Also a bit pricey vs other ramen spots
One of the coolest restaurants in Williamsburg! The matzohball ramen soup is the perfect blend of Jewish/Japenese cuisines. Everything on the menu is delicious. Omakase menu is $65!
The Bitches say: A. We loved the creativity of this Jewish Japanese cuisine. It’s a unique twist on brunch classics perfect for those breaking out of the monotony of your typical eggs Benny&omelettes. Read more
Make reservations . The menu changes daily and is displayed on a chalkboard above the bar so sit at the bar for easy ordering. Great and creative food, toro toast and challah bread are amazing.
Highly recommend New Year’s Duck , Scallops , Grilled Chrysanthemum Greens & Kale . You're fine skipping the Lox Bowl . By far the best feature of this place is the Hitachino Nest White Ale on tap
The lox bowl was my favorite! It was well put together. The duck was tasty, too. I also tried the tuna cream cheese toast . It was good, but they're really small though. The asparagus was alright.
With no idea what to expect from a Jewish- Japanese fusion restaurant I was pleasantly surprised & blown away by how creative and delicious everything was - chefs tasting menu is the only way to go!
The tuna tataki in a black tahini sauce with broccoli and grilled red onion and the teriyaki duck wings among other yummy things.
Matzoh ball ramen and wagyu beef tartar were excellent, but the real winner was the challah chocolate banana bread pudding . I would have taken a picture, but I ate it too quickly.
The sakekasu challah bread is a must, mostly because that golden raisin butter is one of the tastiest, most memorable things you'll eat.
Definitely get the matzo ball ramen and the shana tova duck . And the desserts . And a hitachino (on draft )! And everything else.
Honestly you can't go wrong. Love the ribs , pancake with sauerkraut , lox bowl and tuna tataki . Great service and fun vibe.
Wagyu grilled steak , pastrami-stuffed chicken , and aburaage raclette pouches. Um... I know, right? Best restaurant I've been to so far in Brooklyn. Huge selection of drinks as well .
I️ love this place. The okonomiyaki is one of my favorites — very flavorful. Great for brunch or dinner . The lox bowl is also a go-to favorite.
Creative Japanese with a Jewish twist...favorites were the lox bowl , Jew egg and the fugu tempura special. Mazeman too. Worth a visit !
Tasting Table: "Jewish deli meets Japanese small plates at this Williamsburg spot...To eat, there's sake challah and pastrami-filled chicken , and to drink, Eastern European wines and sake "
Incredible food and drinks. You don't expect it to be as good as it is. Get the pancake dish, the lox bowl and the toro toast . All excellent. Can't go wrong.
Don't miss the Okonomiyaki pancake thang. It appears the preparation changes on occassion, but its base is (delicious emoji) good.
Chefs Sawako Okochi and Aaron Israel, both veterans of top NYC restaurants , wanted to explore their roots, but in merging these two divergent cuisines, they advanced something utterly unique. Read more

Wagyu Pastrami Sando on Housemade Japanese White Bread studded with Caraway Seeds
Really awesome food. Was not disappointed and it is a nice layout where you don't feel like you are on top of people.
The challah and okonomiyaki were standout, as was the extensive drink menu.
AMAZING! try the okonomiyaki and the tataki with black tahini . You can pass on the cold sesame noodles and save room for everything else.
Some of the most alluring menu items offered include the Matzoh Ball Ramen and Okonomiyaki with sauerkraut , pastrami , and bonito flakes . Read more
Go here for a splurge-style din. Rotating menu, but if they have them, challah , okonomiyaki , duck , and lox bowl are all worth ordering to share.
Really delicious and fascinating flavor combos. Price fixed menus can be a bit pricy , but great for special occasions .
The Jew egg (egg in falafel with tsatsiki sauce), the tuna with black tahini , the lamb ribs and the challah caramel popcorn bread budding!
Friendly staff , great selection of sake , incredible food. Notables of the tasting menu were the smoked toro toast and the challah bread pudding .
The challah is good but the smoked toro toast and the Okonomiyaki are unmissable. The bar is really well stocked, and the Sixty-Forty a potable highlight
Really really cool restaurant mixing Jewish and Japanese food . Love the concept and everything was great
It’s all delicious. Been coming her for years. Never a bad meal
A little loud , but def a nice cozy neighborhood spot . And despite the kitschy name, the food was surprisingly cohesive and all delicious.
Loved the salmon bowl and okonoyami for brunch . Get the potatoes ! Will be back
Good for dates , cozy af. Everything was very good - super Jew egg , teriyaki duck wings , challa, and cold noodles .
The Tile Fish was delicious - I would get it again... especially if I could get extra kale tempura
if you only get one thing: TUNA TATAKI but if you wanna get more things def get the duck w/ a honey sauce because it's delectable
Be sure to use the bathroom while you're here...it'll change your life, the back and the front of it. And, the Cornbread Pudding is divine.
The Bay Scallop Sashimi was even better than I expected - super crisp flavors
everything is great- notably the shalom caprese, tuna tataki with black tahini , and the lox bowl
Tuna Tataki with Black Sesame Paste (absolutely delicious)
Tuna tataki , matzo ball ramen .
mind-blowing Japanese/Jewish fusion menu, incredible service. Must reserve
The Jew egg is great, just like they make em in the Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
The udon salad = cold noodles salad, best of both worlds! And it comes with two delicious dipping sauces. - Sraj Geen

Try the Oatmeal Creme Pie Soft Serve - Very good, maybe the best one in the current rotation of flavors - Mike Chau
Fun spot to hang out with a wide variety of arcade games and pinball machines to choose from. This is the best Barcade location with tall ceilings and open layout concept. - Amanda Rella
