The best times are early morning, all day until right before dark when the sand flies (tiny Fockers) start biting.. The park is great & safe you can even kayak around & through the connected lakes .

Lots of red ants abd mosquitoes.
Beware of thiefs! My van was broken into while I was standing 50 feet away.
You have to pay to walk into the park , which we thought was a waste. Kayaking isn't very expensive .

Love this park. Subtle beauty. Enjoyable boardwalks in the mangroves out to the lake. Check out the salt water tanks in the exhibit hall. Climb the tower for a breath taking vista of the ocean. - HeidiHo
