The Museum of Natural History was founded in 1920 & started out as a small wooden building on a public square. The rooms were crowded with various species of animals earning it the nickname “The Ark.”
Amazing. So many wonderful exhibits . Very family friendly . Be sure and get lunch in the cafe too. Very friendly employees and super yummy food.
Go see the gem room! Believe it or not, they most expensive rock they have in there is the moon rock from the Apollo 12 mission to the moon. #istilllovediamondsthemost

Had a lot of fun here. Neat exhibits (loved the dinosaurs !) and the planetarium show was pretty cool and interactive. Glad we went.

Overshadowed by the art mueseum nearby but is well updated and has some cool exhibits . Enjoyed the face controlled mouse cursor demo
They do a nice job with birthday parties. We had one there for our daughter in 2010, and it was really nice! Good combination of fun and learning.

The Whales|Tohora exhibit is definitely a must-see. Stop in before January 27 to hear legends, touch whale bones, and crawl through a life-sized whale heart!
Allow yourself time to see everything. It's worth it.
A great place for kids. Don't miss it. Try the exploring lab at the lower level.

If you have a large group, do NOT plan events on the weekend unless you get people there early. Stuff fills up too quickly.

Visit the Planetarium & Observatory for $4 to see the stars and planets!
They have everything from rocks and minerals , to fossils, to living animals!
Between 6 & 7 pm they feed the corals in the reef tank (Climate Change Exhibit )!
Upstairs for the art gallery too!

CMNH manages an onsite zoo with plants and animals native to Ohio accessible from inside the museum .

It is a bit expensive, but worth it in my opinion. The gardens are fairly extensive, and the indoor habitats are lovely. I went during a tree house exhibit and that was super fun! - Breanna Tullos
