Fresh and perfectly cooked cod and red fish , taste absolutely stunning tho you might wanna add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor(Better than Skyrr dipping ). Delicious salad (Orange salad was nice)
Absolutely delicious! The fish changes seasonally and is really fresh. The batter is not very heavy or oily and the fish really shines. They have preconfigured combos that save you a couple of bucks.
Try the Steinbit fish instead of cod if they have it at the moment. Sauce is served on the side. Don't miss the mango salad ! Try the Chilean wine to go with, it's mazing! Free wifi for 2 hrs
Batter is light and crispy yet not oily. Portion is generous and the oven baked potatoes are really good. If you have trouble deciding, go for their fish of the day and recommended sides.
Cod with any side is fantastic and fresh, but make sure you get a large Gull Beer to top it all all off! Also, AWESOME FRIENDLY ICELANDINC SERVERS IS A PLUS!
Less charming than Reykjavik Fish across the street, but with way more delicious and distinctive fried fish - spelt battered catch of the day! DO get the happy hour special .
Informal restaurant in front of the harbor when you can try fish and chips with the catch of the day. Iceland beer is a must.
My absolute favorite place in Reykjavik. Great for eat-in or take-out ('THE' fish takeout in town ), reasonably priced and great atmosphere. Try their salad , gingerale and of course skyronaise sauces.
Great freshly caught fish , delicious potatoes and skyr dipping sauces (my favourite was truffle and tarragon ).
Went with one of the recommendations on the board - probably the healthiest fried fish I've had, love the spelt batter ! Tldr; get a recommendation if you're indecisive
Just look at that batter. Yes, please! Wonderful flavours, suggest you go with one of their daily recommendations.
After the usual fried ling + oven-roasted potatoes + tartar skyronnes dip try the Traditional skyr with berrycoulis and cinnamon-roasted walnuts . And then you'll tell me "Takk"
New location! The restaurant has moved to Tryggvagata 11, same building as the Volcano House. - It's the grey house on the corner with no corners ;)
The fish batter was really light and crispy . Not greasy at all, I recommend the truffle and tarragon dip for the chips . :)
Delicious fish , get the vegetable duo for an illusion of healthy choice ???? The staff was very friendly . I'll be back! ❤️
Local fresh fish&chips bistro with lookout to the harbor . Had plaice with a crispy potatoes , salad and honey/mustard sauce, great taste at all.
Food is amazing, staff are really friendly and helpful. A must if you'd like to experience yummy Icelandic fish and chips !
Tasty no frills meal with fresh fish that doesn't break the bank . Recommend especially for families and casual dinner .
Everything was stellar. Fresh fish , yummy potatoes , delicious dips !
Fish so fresh and good, good alternative to the pricier seafood options nearby. Thumbs up for the mango salad too
Catch of the day (Cod ) was great. Chips were more like wedges but delicious.
Great service and the food was pretty good, but could have kicked it uo a notch in terms of flavor. Great for a hungry family though.
I got the ling, which was delightful. Get the skyr dip sampler! All the dips besides maybe mango were lovely.
Tip: for budget travelers you might wanna consider their set dinner with around 700IKR cheaper tho you cannot choose your salad and Skyrr dipping .
Must have the langoustines ! The bread that comes with it is just to die for! Crispy potatoes aren't very crispy though...
The fish and chips were amazing. Get the dipping sauce sampler to go with it.
The fish soup is rich and amazing! The large bowl is filling enough for a meal.
Vinegar sauce is the way to go. Was less enthused with my truffle and tarragon . Fish was quite good though.
The decor is misleading. You'll get some amazing fish and chips here. The waitress was very nice and attentive.
Probably some of the best fish and chips I've ever had! Well okay, I didn't get the chips . The onion rings were absolutely delicious though!
Great fish and chips - and reasonably priced compared to the rest of downtown!
We were told this was some of the best fish and chips in Reykjavik. Although the sauce selection is nice, the fish was sort of bland
Best fish and chips around. Cod is the standard. Onion rings are also incredible.
Different take on a British classic, the food here is awesome and fresh.
Refreshing taste, crusty yet so light and fresh.
Cod , Mango Salad , and Crispy Potatoes were all fantastic.
Cod with crispy potatoes on a mango salad with the coriander skyronnes is lovely
Thought these would be amazing fish and chips but they were just ok. I had better in random places throughout Iceland. They charge you for every sauce and don't provide free vinegar and lemon .
fresh fish with skyr dips ! can't go wrong with a dip sampler.
You get several pieces of fish , so unless you're starving, consider sharing. We think it's definitely enough for two, especially with the potatoes .
Coco latte is delicious. Chili spiced, little chocolate . Also get the biscotti . Tastes like a shortbread & has Angelica (Icelandic lava moss) in it.
A bit noisier but slightly cheaper than other restaurant nearby. Check out the volcano shop.
Very disappointed. Much better quality of fish at the less fancy Reykavik Fish & Chips a minute away. Langoustines were mushy and clearly not fresh. Service was good.
Fish , chips and a beer . Excellant. Friendly staff .
Fish and broccoli and fish and potatoes .
The icelandic biscotti is so good! A must try with a warm coco latte
Wonderful and not heavy. Even salads are good.
Really fun, simple and reasonably priced
Great salads including soup and fried fish .
The Kaldi beer is great and may have healing properties
I can’t stop thinking about the lobster soup. Delicious, comforting, and full of flavor. The bread is also incredible! Order up a bowl, grab a Gull beer, & enjoy this quaint authentic seafood shack. - Marie
The Fish Soup With Lots Of Fish really does have lots of fish - spicy (but not too spicy), delicious, and way worth it!!! - myrrh ♫
Amazing food! Great combination of flavors and beautiful presentation! Ireland beer was our favorite! - Mari Pavli
Must go. Spent an hour amazed by the place and the views. Take your time and enjoy it.... - Sara Weber
The staff were very knowledgeable, eager to please and served a lovely cup of coffee. The documentaries were very interesting and taught a lot about icelands volcanic history. A must see! - Sigursteinn Baldursson
the cutest area with tons of restaurants and a great view - Christine Wong
