Absolutely stunning. Everyone should go to an opera at least once. Everything is on point. Dress up and enjoy the show. Grab drinks at the bar for great views .
view from the 1st balcony box seat isn't terrible but you do miss some of the action in the back and left of the stage . (eg we could not see odette dramatically leap into the lake )
Experience this magnificent venue at least once in your life. cross it off the bucket list! ;) The temp tends to fluctuate inside so dress in layers!
If you haven't already, purchase tickets to see a show IMMEDIATELY. You will not regret it. Some of the most stunning performances are held here. Highly recommend Carmen as a must see!
the balcony boxes are all accessed through this secret passage. if your kids get bored you can let them sit outside and watch ipad.

Misty Copeland in Don Quixote was absolutely beautiful. During intermissions , the food and wine were surprisingly delicious. Everyone from the ushers,bartenders & maitre'd were kind & helpful.
One of the best opera houses in the world. Don't forget to check out the chandelier or the view into Lincoln square from the top floors.
Beautiful and elegant, great acoustics . All seats are quite close to the stage , but you might want to avoid the side sections and boxes if you like seeing the full stage .
One of the supreme temples of culture. Beautiful mid-century design and check out the Chagall’s at intermission . Shortest bar lines are in parterre - yes you are allowed back there.

Because you can't not like it. I've sat in the last row and the first, I've had partial view balcony seats . It's beautiful and humbling no matter what.
Student discount tickets are a great deal. All shows have subtitles cast on the back of the seat in front of you. Dressing up is recommended.

Take the time to do the tour which is the best $20 bucks spent in NYC. It will give you a greater appreciation for the opera that is rich with history.

FANTASTIC PLACE TO HEAR BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS! The drinks and food are very over priced. Don't get the smoked salmon sandwich . The desserts are a safer more delicious option.

Probably the most timeless atrium in the city . A great place for people watching and hilarity. Stick to champagne , the whiskey is overpriced.
If driving, park on 65th and bway. And then take the elevator all the way to the top. U will save 10 minutes at least.
