A MUST-SEE when visiting San Francisco! You have to wait for some minutes but it's worth it! I recommend this on your first day because it will you provide you with a 360-degree great overview!
Hike up the Filbert Stairs for a scenic route! Elevator only fits 8 at a time, so it’s a bit slow going to get up/down. Weekdays are best for avoiding long lines . Unreal views on a clear day!
Do not drive to get there! Use your legs! Beautiful sightseeing all around the tower. You can start from the market and walk along the pier before heading to the tower
Even if you don't want to climb the 13 floors to the viewing platform , the climb to the tower itself is definitely worth it. The reward is a fantastic view of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge .
The best view tower i have been too. Great view to all sides of the city and the tickets are not expensive at all. GREAT!
An oasis on top of the city with views across the bay , exotic gardens and hummingbirds . What more do you want?
So many stairs ...but seriously, walking up these stairs , you feel like you’re not even in a city anymore.
There are stairs to the east of the tower; take them down (or up). The foliage smells amazing and you can peak at the expensive cliff side homes.
Best place to get pictures of the city , period. Be mindful of other people waiting to take a picture in certain corners and be sure to come a little bit before sunset if you want to get the best shot.
Definitely a workout to get there on foot, but the view it offers of the city is worth it
Stunning views of the city from the top of the tower. Ask the attendant to open up the glass windows for taking photographs of Oakland Bridge , Golden Gate Bridge and downtown SFO.
The view you get from the top of the tower on a nice day is spectacular. That's ultimately what this place is about so if you have a nice camera you'll get some pretty amazing shots. $8 per person.
The staircases to the bay bridge direction was an amazing walk. I didn't go up the tower but the walk was one of those bests moment in San Francisco for me.
What a great view ! Loved it! Staff were absolutely fantastic! They made me feel like I was at home. Such a great introduction to San Francisco! ????
If you walk up the hill be prepared for a pretty serious set of stairs to climb. Also, try to go at dusk when the views are nice. They'd be even better if they removed a couple of the trees up there.
Earn your view by starting at Levi's Plaza and climb the Filbert Street steps up Telegraph Hill . Be kind to the neighbors and neighborhood .
For the full experience, park at the bottom of the hill and hike to the top. You'll pass through one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city , and you'll be rewarded at the top with a view !
Great views over the city . Don't overlook or ignore the murals though. There is some interesting items in the detail
Definetely a must do, when you're in SF. You should take the steps to make the amazing view even more rewarding. I took the ones from Greenwich Street - nice wakeup-workout.
Walk up the filbert steps and look out for the wonderful neighborhood . Coit tower in itself is a marvelous place with fantastic views
The line was SUPER long so we didn't go up but the view was still worth it at the top and the flowers on the path up the hill were also super beautiful.
Since it was established in 1933, Coit Tower has been an emblem of the San Francisco skyline offering a 360 view of the city , the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge .
Go to front door make a left to the outside wrap around path you can get am excellent view of the Columbus statue , the American Flag and alactraz!
They stop selling tickets at 5:30pm, so get in line early! It's small up there and when you are late, the windows will be locked and you won't be able to take good pictures!
A round trip on the weekend will take an hour and a half. The breakdown will be: 30 min wait to go up, 5 min walking around at the top, 55 min wait to go down #oneslowelevator #derp
A spectacular view of the city from all angles! Make sure to get tickets to take the elevator to the top. Parking is limited and only 30min.
Amazing views of the city and the bay . Definitely make this stop on your visit to SF.
I went here years ago. I want to go back. It was amazing. The views of my most favorite city were stunning here. I absolutely love San Francisco.
If you’re able, walk up the 234 stairs to the top—it’s worth it for the 360 views , I promise!
360 degree views of San Fran up-top the tower on Telegraph Hill . Parking , traffic issues at peak times so walking the Greenwich or Filbert stairs to get to is popular.
Coit Tower is another recognizable landmark . The concrete tower was built in 1933 and resembles a fire hose to honor the city ’s firefighters. Read more
Get to the top of the stairs and you get a fabulous view of Golden Gate and Bay Bridge ! Tourists flock here but it's worth the wait.
Enjoy the views from the observation deck but don’t forget to check out the socialist-leaning WPA-era murals in the base of the tower as well . - Green Guide Editor
Pretty cool place to stop at for bit. Closes somewhat early so check it out during normal work hours. Good views up there, but rough parking .
If you stop by here, dont forget to hit up twin peaks (not that twin peaks). The wind is awesome and its got a great view and no safety glass. (Damn those smart people...)
One of the things in San Francisco that is in all of the tourist guide books for a reason, very much worth the trip.
The view is spectacular! You need to pay in the gift shop and get a stamp for the elevator to get up top.
360-degree views of downtown. - cool but touristy . Si van a coit tower, pasen por lombard street - la calle famosa swirly (and the street I live on)
Go in the evening if you want best view of CBD city area and bay bridge because of direction of sun light .. Golden Gate Bridge view should look good in morning
Great views . However, they close at 6pm, so sometimes during the year you won't be able to see the sunset from the top of the tower.
very amazing - picturesque SF - right near the windy street - lombard. If you go to the top theres wild parrots that eat the berries in the bushes.
Visit just before sunset (it's $7 for the elevator to the top) when the Transamerica Pyramid, framed by the tower's arches, is bathed in a golden glow.
Very nice view of the whole city - worth the climb! 7/10
$8 and you get a beautiful view of the city go early to beat the rush.
A must visit. Great views of the city . Should be on everyone's list
Enjoy the views from the observation deck but don’t forget to check out the socialist-leaning WPA-era murals in the base of the tower as well .
It's funny that the Columbus statue is really different from the image that Europeans have of him. Great views !
$7 for adult, worth the long hot hike up the hill and long queue to get ticket and get lift to top. We got some great pics.
Sweet view of the city ! Take the stairway walk up here for great path to health.
