Treasure Island

An artificial island in the San Francisco Bay created in 1936 and 1937, from fill dredged from the bay, for the Golden Gate International Exposition. Previously owned by the U.S. Navy, and recently sold to the city of San Francisco for $108 million as part of a redevelopment project.
