A legendary hotel. Shakespeare's fallen hero. A film noir shadow of suspense. Punchdrunk's award-winning theatrical installation, SLEEP NO MORE, through February 28, 2017.
530 W 27th St (btwn 10th & 11th Ave) New York , NY 10001 United States
Outstanding interactive theatrical experience . Just do it. Try not to bring anything but ID and credit card; you will need your maneuverability. Don't be afraid to be overdressed, but dress lightly.
Stunning. One of the best theatrical experiences I've ever had. Dark, brooding, mysterious. Worth a trip to New York just for this. Don't do too much research just show up and take it all in.
Long queues but worth it for a different theatre experience to get you out of your chair. If you like to talk to actors , then try a different show around town . Love the absinthe punch and jazz band .
Split up. Seriously. Let go of your loved one's hand, just for a few hours. Go your own way. Half the fun is discussing your experiences after and piecing together the fragments of story.
Unique experience - live interactive theatre . Follow characters around to see there story. Dark setting and everyone has to wear masks. Elaborate & crazy stories, you just have to try it.
Awesome theatre experience and unique performance . Don’t expect to see everything or understand the plot. There is too much to explore and too much going on. Just enjoy what you see.
Interactive theater experience in a Chelsea warehouse converted into the McKittrick "Hotel ". Actors move from room to room performing scenes based on Macbeth sans dialogue while you explore the hotel .
Unique immersive theatre experience loosely based on MacBeth . Amazing set. Better to experience alone: follow a different character every time the play re-starts. Witch orgy is a memorable scene.
Enter the hotel with an open mind and light clothing . Follow the actors closely - you won't regret it.
I’ve seen in 3 times and it’s a completely different show each time. Try to hang out on the 4th floor in the hallway for a secret door that only opens twice—including for best scene of the show!
Great training for a 10k. Kind of overwhelming if you're bad with pushy crowds. I would have loved to see some more interaction and lone extras to discover while roaming. Quite the experience though.
Actors repeat their scenes 3 times during the 3-hour performance , culminating in a finale at the Ballroom (level 1). For reference, the Manderley Bar where everyone starts from is level 2
Sleep No More won the 2011 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. It also won Punchdrunk special citations at the 2011 Obie Awards for design and choreography. Source: Wikipedia
Great experience, walk around and follow the actors !!! Take some candy at the candy shop!!
Really interesting interactive theatre experience . WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES! You’re honestly running up and down stairs chasing after actors and if you’re lucky, they’ll break the 4th wall and see you
“King Duncan”, whom Macbeth murders to fulfill the prophecy, starts scene 1 of his loop in his bedroom. Find his bedroom/suite (with a chapel, library & balcony ) at level 1
A very unique theater experience . They mean well when they suggest to split up w your group - much better experienced alone.
Such a unique immersive theatrical experience - words can’t express how amazing this is... highly recommended!!!!!
“Lady Macbeth ”. As scenes loop 3x during this 3-hr performance , find her starting scene at level 3, in the room with a bathtub in the middle. That’s the Macbeths ' bedroom. Nearby, there’s a cemetery
An immersive interactive theater experience like nothing else. Created by British theatre company Punchdrunk. Choose your own adventure.
If you prefer a linear story, a better bet is to follow a character. Since the scenes loop roughly every hour, wait for “Macbeth ” (in tuxedo ) at the ballroom on level 1, or the hotel lobby on level 2
Def dress comfortably as you move around a lot. Read about mcbeth and the witch trials beforehand so you can piece together the plot.
Wow. Next time I'll go to an earlier show to have more time to explore. Expect to want to go again, no way to experience everything in one go.
A dream while awake, or a nightmare depending on your emotional state and where it leads you. If I could go every night I would.
Interactive theatre experience . Very interesting. Add to your to do list in New York City . It lasts for three hours.
Incredible show! Would definitely recommend it to everyone who visits NYC, even if you have 2 days there go and see it!
Go in knowing as little as possible, but wear comfortable shoes , contacts (if needed), and your sense of adventure.
Stunning!!! It should be in everyone's bucket list to go to this show. One of the best experiences that I've ever had.
A very unique interactive theatre experience . Wear masks and follow the actors around a several floor beautiful set. Read more
Incredible experience. Very weird. Very cool. My advice is to stick to a character for a while or as long as you can.
Follow the actors
Just the best play I've seen, you may go as many times you want, it will be always different
Unique immersive theater experience . Peep the naked people!
Immersive, engaging and at times a little scary. Highly recommended.
A experience difficult to explain, but you need to see and attend... Crazy
one-of-a-kind experience rewarding repeat viewing ! dress up and make it a better experience for everyone :)
Tamara of storytelling! A very different, individual theater experience where you move around in the scenes yourself.
An experience you should definiiiitely have in your visit in NY! :D
The weirdest show ever. You gonna love it!!!
Very cool and special theatre experience!!
What a trip. Make sure to catch it while it is still on.
A way to be in the scenes. Great place, but confusing... contemporary thater ????
Be the last one on the elevator for an especially fun adventure!
Great experience! Follow the act to understand the story
in line for 40 mins just to enter through the door !
Once is not enough!
Best experience when in New York!
Explore EVERYTHING
Soooooo good, even better than expected!
This place should be mandatory in every trip to NYC.
