Probably one of the best tuna tartares I've had in my life. The balance of flavors, a little acid, a little creamy and just light and fresh. The best part is they can do half portions of appetizers !
Love the ambience & deco. Service is brisk and despite the buzz, they still give personal attention making sure u r comfortable . Top pick: shakshouk - baked eggs with shanklish & red peppers .
Little variety on the menu but the dishes produced are of high quality. The small bites and entrée are the highlight of the menu. The fried cauliflower and tuna salad are a must!
Go with the chef selection! You can’t go wrong. It was a fantastic tasting menu that always changes. Sit up at the bar against the kitchen and enjoy the chefs in action
Go for the 5 coudse tasting menu which is massive but so good (it's more than 5 dishes!). The food is simple but so fine at the same time. The potatoes are to die for! The atmosphere is laid back . ❤️
Excellent Beef Tartare . Loved the Tuna Tartare as well . The Slow Roast Lamb Shoulder was exceptionally tender. The Poached Stone Fruits , Sheep’s Milk Sorbet & Elderflower Jelly was refreshing as well .
3rd time here and still as awesome!Fresh as ever Petite Claire Oysters and Ahi Tuna Salad , excellent Foie Gras terrine , succulent n tender Beef Short Rib , divine Madeleines . What's there not to like!
A great breakfast place. Shaksouka was fabulous and massive. Coffee was great too. Come early if you don't want to queue. We were there at 805 and got straight in (Saturday). queues when we left
Excellent service and great atmosphere! For breakfast , try the gelatinous 65/65 egg (boiled for 65 mins in 65°C water), served with lyonaisse sausage , smoked hock and baked beans !
Incredible dinner but also everything you've ever wanted from breakfast with no wait! Sit at the counter for some fun prep action.
Crumpets & rooftop honey for breakfast ! Delicious if you don't mind getting sticky...great coffee too. Perfect if you're not in a rush. People watching also excellent. Lovely staff too.
Recommend the shakshouka and the crumpets . Gets busy on weekends so make sure and get here early. Though good - not sure it’s worth the wait. Service is great though.
The service is excellent, most of the dishes are designed with sharing in mind, everything we had was exquisite, with free bread , we found 4 dishes more than enough for 3 people
Halloumi , fennel , burnt honey // broad beans// roast lamb shoulder // new season potatoes , confit garlic & sage // black barley and farro salad
Ask for a seat at the counter to watch the chefs at work. Crumpets are amazing! The English Breakfast is meat-heavy.
This bar is amazing. Feels like you've transported back in time to Old New York. It's above Cumulus up an unmarked very 70s looking stairwell. Just head up. The bar tapas are ones to write home about.
Really interesting menu...and they offered half portions so was able to try various things without blowing the budget. Great location in and among the cbd with a vibrant but relaxed feel to it.
Try the tuna tartare , it's absolutely amazing! And I'm not a seafood lover! I also liked the broccoli salad + the Sardinian salami . You'll be more likely to find sophisticated dishes vs simple ones.
Everything. By way of example pastry of the month is an escargot and it is the best I have tasted. Beats anything Lune are doing by a mile.
Fantastic service and great food. We went to Cumulus for breakfast food was really great. Choices were a bit limited comparing to other places but the food was infallible.
Rhubarb root beer and slow-cooked octopus are must-haves. Staff is amazing. Great solo place to visit. Excellent views of kitchen, great books to flip through, and half plates.
Had the cucumber and bulgar wheat starter - waste of time. The ricotta dumplings were so delicious though. I wish I had ordered more
An absolute hive of activity. Had the brekky bake. Good food and service. I hate when you leave something, and they don't ask why. "rock hard eggs " mean just that. sorry guys, deducting a point.
Return trip; though dismayed to see favourites knocked off the menu (cauliflower ), the food is still super. Waitress Romy is sensational and gauged our appetites perfectly - thank you! Madeleines FTW!
Very good service and made for sharing. Lots of interesting and delicious flavours. We shared 4 plates between 3 people and were more than satisfied.
Great service and delicious dining! Everything was so well done, shared serving platters were well presented and timed. However, delays are expected during busy hours.
The pan roasted Flounder and pumpkin salad are out of this world. So is the Foie Gras parfait with Toasted Brioche .
really nice environment, friendly staff , art is all around. Good soy latte ! I was also told the food is very good and it's better to go at 2pm,at 12 it's packed.
Great ambiance, great food, great service. Hidden down an uninviting corridor and up some dreary stairs. Everything Melbourne restaurants are famous for.
If you feel like a chilled modern Australian dinner , this is your place. Also amazing for breakfast - and great coffee .. Tick tick tick!
Amazing food. We had the foie gras , tuna tar tar , crab salad and the chorizo with dates. Worth the money.
Dinner here is Fabulous! SPECIAL MENTION to porkhead croquettes , green bean salad , roast pumpkin salad , foie gras parfait and steak !
Awesome breakfast if you are not on a budget. Larger groups should book ahead, this place is packed in the morning.
Best breakfast and the most delicious salted chocolate shortbread biscuits at the coffee counter to go with great coffee .
Delicious food. Creative menu. Beautifully presented. Friendly staff . Great atmosphere for brunch , lunch or dinner .
There's a reason people are eating dinner here at 5.30 pm. The food and service are great. Loved the tuna tartare and the pastrami/rye/pickles.
Super tasty Australian-style small plates . Can’t go wrong.
They need to extend their breakfast/brunch menu to later in the day. Get here early in the day (and wait in line ) if you want some of that chorizo !!!!
Another vote for the amazing duck waffle ! ???? Small and packed. Standing room can be a bit awkward as you'll be sharing someone else's table.
One of the top places in Melbourne.
My favorites were the Peppers and the Red Emperor - oh, and don't miss the made to order Madelines for dessert ! (Also, fun bartenders that make mean cocktails .)
Tuna tartare and the wagyu really does live up to the expectations! Great meal.
If you are a duck lover like me then the Roast Aylesbury Duck Breast with Toasted Grains, Lentils & Plum is a must try. Eating at the bar is a fun experience.
To do the menu justice, we recommend rolling four deep so you can try everything. A bowl of sweet yabbies comes out utensil free. Here folks, is why we have opposable thumbs. Read more
About 4-5 dishes is plenty to share between four when you order the slow roasted lamb shoulder . Food is divine. Service is good also.
Lovely breakfast but not impressed with the choices. However, good food & great coffee . Plus, love the interior space + natural lighting
If you are staying at Sofitel it's a stone throw . Literally. Ask the outdoor valet folks it's so near that they can even walk you there !
Lamb shoulder is melt-in-your-mouth tender. It's soooooooo gooooooood.
Staff are amazing. Have some great suggestions so listen to them. Crumpets for breakfast are simply divine
We tried the Chef selection on the menu. We love it very much ! recommend it
As good as always! Highlights are the duck waffle with foie gras (with a glass of Madera), and the buffalo ricotta gnocchi! Yum - T S
Faultless indeed. Highly recommended. Great night out; spent ~$150 for two. - S
The lamb is fantastic! With side of chips and greens is not to miss! - Michael Woods
The visitor center was very helpful. There is also free wifi and plenty of seats if you need a rest. - Tracy Morgan
This place is a gem in the Melbourne cocktail scene. Great staff. Great drinks. A must visit. You'll be back. - Bluey HK
The Viennese art is beautiful and the curators are fantastic ! - Sam Welsh
