Super casual , but don't be taken back by it. Sit at the sushi bar and order their daily specials . They will rock your world. Try the seared toro if they have it.
Amazing food/confusing menu. The $35 omakase is solid, but if you're feeling flush, check out the $65-85 'sushi box' omakase or the $140+ 'Super Omakase ' hand-served by head chef Nobu at the back bar .
To start, I highly recommend Kusshi and Kumamoto oysters , avocado king crab roll and Black Cod appetizer . Also, you'll never go wrong with omakase .
Wow. Totally blown away by the experience here. Highly recommend doing the sushi and sashimi for two. The crudo is fresh and delicious and my fav was the tempura corn .
Everything was fantastic. The sushi sashimi for two was delicious and beautiful.
Beautiful and delicious sushi but questionable Kara-age (no taste or seasoning). Set aside plenty of time at this place because the service is slow so you’ll be hanging out here a while.
The fish here is amazing. I always get the chefs choice and I am always pleased.
Absolutely loved the sashimi platter , the dragon roll , and the scallop role. Great vibe on a Sunday night
The corner East Village eatery , run by laid-back kitchen vets Nobuyuki Shikanai and Daigo Yamaguchi, turns out top-notch nigiri that stands toe-to-toe with some of its pricier counterparts. Read more
You can’t go wrong with this affordable , high quality sushi option. Get a sushi special and leave the choices to them.
The folks at Kanoyama are a head above the rest, with specials like hamachi carpaccio with yuzu juice and sea salt , sea conch sashimi , and Tasmanian ocean trout .
A very affordable and high quality omakase . The fatty tuna with mint is quite good, as is their monkfish liver . We recommend gong with a few people, ordering a ton, and sharing.
If you're with a large party call in advance for the tuna rib and prepare to scrape it off the bone! P.s. the choice and quality of the oysters and fish from the homeland is phenomenal
The omakase was awesome and the Gyozas also great. Excellent service . The green tea ice is delicious.
Three roll combo for $18 is a great deal.
Get the omakase sushi . It's $35 and worth every penny. I guarantee you will eat types of fish you've never even heard of.
Sit at the sushi bar and order the omakase ... on the expensive side, but worth it, and you'll be mesmerized watching the sushi chefs create their masterpieces.
Super authentic sushi spot... Get the chef’s sashimi special ????
Michelin starred and very reasonably priced
That big tuna thing is real weird. The first round is scrape off the bones - not super filling. Then they deep fry the shit out of it and you munch on the marrow . Fun I guess and not that expensive
Not only is this some of the best sushi/sashimi in town , but it also yields one of the most authentic Japanese appetizers and entrees. Get the monkfish liver to start and enjoy the omakase meals!
Consistently high quality, super fresh sushi and sashimi . Fish is equal to top sushi restaurant standards at a good value . I recommend the daily specials and tuna rib appetizer , if it's available.
Sit at the bar and ask for the 'super omakase ' (not on the menu ). Chef Nobu is wonderful so sit strategically to watch him prepare and discuss the sushi !
my new favorite #omakase in nyc. ask for chef nobu in the back! (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
Sashimi regular $19 for 10 quality pieces with rice . Seaweed salad served in a crispy basket $9.
Sushi special is a great deal for $39
everytime i come here, i have to get omasake sushi set and it is different each time.unagi sushi is unbelievably delish and so is the plum wine . i would also recommend the tempura set.
I was disappointed with the $110 chef 's tasting menu - while we were getting little soups & weird apps, all the folks around us were getting hand-fed sushi via the $45 mini-tasting. Do that instead.
Get the sashimi omakase and a glass of sake . You won't regret it.
Dine-in, delivery or pick up: this is the best sushi in the east village .
Daily specials menu for seasonal add-ons. Omakase for a special night. For crazy, have them bring out those tuna ribs .
Great sushi at very good prices. Fresh and good quality fish .
Incredible shrimp tempura sushi , fried oyster sushi , and mochi icecream .
Ive only had delivery from here and I think it is one of the best around!
Must get the tuna rib special!
Top quality sushi . Ask for their tuna catches of the day. They're fresh and fatty! King salmon is also good!
Try Omakase set. They will give you the best fish of the day.
Sashimi deluxe, echigo beer . This is all you need to know .
Get omakase nigiri set. Very delicious! :)
affordable favorite
Sashimi is amazing!
Amazing sushi , omakase was a bargain so delicious
Get the Oyster Uni Ikura - it's ridiculously amazing
Best sushi I ever had! The omokase sushi is worth the extra money. It is out of this world. I've been eating sushi since I was a kid and this place blows away any sushi I have ever eaten. Love it!
How much do I love the omikase, let me count the ways.
Specials, sweet shrimp when available
A bit pricey . Specifically the Sake menu. One can of funaguchi should not cost $14. Otherwise I enjoyed my ???? .
From one sake lover to another: if you like dry and smooth (not sweet) - get the hakkasian or the otokoyama. #cantsayno
Hamachi carpaccio , lobster roll , and negitoro temaki
good quality omakase for $3x
Even the cheaper combination sushi for lunch is superb. Don't miss this place. - Augusto Lima
Fantastic sashimi and maki - get the green tea creme brûlée! - Tara Medeiros
The nabeyaki udon is excellent, so is the pork katsu platter. Quantity is massive and quality is very good. - Inhak Kim
One of the most amazing places I have been in N.Y.Full of history, incredible ambient and music. - Miss A
