Few delicious things: spicy lobster egg roll (my fav), California blue crab inside out and negi hama. If you don't know what to pick and you want a good assortment of rolls , take the sushi combo two.
Wow. The sushi is good value , the service is attentive, and the fish is so tender! Don't miss the miso (they let you mix the paste into the bowl yourself). Will definitely be back.
We ordered a variety of sashimi and their yellow tail stood out in terms of flavour. Their tuna was the most succulent. Their gunkan and spicy salmon/tuna maki rolls just dissolve in ur mouth
It might be expensive , but the Blue Ribbon Special is worth every penny and is the best way to experience everything they have to offer!
Everything we had eaten was delicious, we could not taste the tempura because of the gas problem at the kitchen, we only had chance to have rolls , the rolls were very good
This is one of the best sushi restaurants I have eaten in in all of New York City . So fresh and tasty and fast service . Open-style rolling is my favorite. A recommended restaurant for sushi and rolls .
I'm always a bit disappointed by sushi in NYC, but this place came up trumps. Very authentic and very tasty. Mackerel was excellent. Sashimied and then then deep fried
Probably some of the best sushi I’ve had in America. The ginger vegetable soup was great especially during winter
Fresh, great sushi . One menu item lets you make your own rolls , which fun. Came for dinner with girlfriends and ordered round after round until we were full. Never felt rushed at a 3 hour dinner !
The mix of traditional techniques, the varied menu, and the funky soul music make a potent blend. Bring an appetite, and don't blink, of you'll walk right past it (look for the bonsai ????)
Ask for a hand roll - it's the crunchiest, most delicate nori you're likely to see anywhere. Box sake is a fun experience as well . Blue Ribbon has earned its mighty rep year after year.
I loved everything about this place. Food, service, ambiance. The salmon sashimi is the best I've ever had. Loved the eggplant too. All that we had was delicious and extremely fresh.
Amazing fresh, tasty sushi . Definitely a cut above the rest. I’ll be coming back.
Fish is flown in from Japan and listed by ocean of origin. It’s unpretentious and offers a healthy selection of fish-free options for vegetarians : natto (fermented beans) and yama gobo (baby burdock ).
Well worth the wait (and you'll need to wait since they don't take reservations ). The service is impeccable and the sushi is extremely fresh and tasty.
So delicious! Small little sushi bar with a nice atmosphere. If tomoe is booked go there. You can also have take away , good Solution as you definitely have to wait min 30min for a free table.
Go around 7 and put your name on the list then grab a drink around the corner while you wait. Good place for dates. Can be expensive but won't break the bank like some other sushi spots .
the cucumber wrapped tiny shrimp and the spicy lobster sashimi = makes you forget there is such a thing as an entire 'lobster roll '
: Salmon skin roll , blue ribbon roll , spicy lobster with egg wrapper (karai ise ibe) roll with melter miso butter (amazeballs), smoked trout sushi and medium fatty tuna roll . I. Die.
The dumplings are super good, need a reservation though I waited 30 minutes for a table at 10:30 pm. Very good ambiance!!
You can't go wrong with any roll here. Obvi the Blue Ribbon is the best, but even the blue crab california is a winner and I never get california rolls !
No, seriously – order the omakase , and once you've polished off rich bites of super fresh salmon , tuna and mackerel , they'll clean up your scraps and return with a crunchy treat. Read more
Omakase comes as two separate, large plates, not one piece at a time like the truly great spots. Top notch fish , but served in a not-so-top-notch way.
Have you tried their Green Tea Creme Brûlée for dessert ? The green tea subdues the excessive sweetness creating a perfectly balanced Creme that's not too sweet and not too bitter.
Thinly sliced amberjack, raw, with a little cucumber cutout, filled with tangy-spicy-salty yuzu pepper . Take a little chunk of yuzu , lay it on the fish , pop into your mouth. Experience heaven
If you wanna see models in short skirts and heels showing off their panties while they sit and eat some of the freshest sushi on the planet... This place is definitely the spot for you... Yum!
Recommend: Dynamite (a must!), fried oyster lettuce roll , eel avocado roll . $105 for 3 people, good atmosphere but a bit over priced
Oxtail bone marrow fried rice is so good. Wouldn't think to order fried rice at a Japanese restaurant with sushi , but this was amazing.
Such a great sushi date place ! First time I ever had real Miso soup I think. The place is as fresh as can be too.
Even with a great selection to choose from I still stick to the spicy blue crab roll and house salad with watercress , avocado , carrots , and ginger dressing , can't beat it!
Trendy , late night spot that’s best if you have an expense account. Spicy lobster and spicy blue crab rolls are notable favorites.
If you're into weird stuff get the horse mackerel as a starter: you eat the sashimi of the fish , then the bones are fried and you eat them too! (With a sauce)
Sushi is amazing. The spicy tuna is a solid choice here. Service is also great - the waiters are legit super nice human beings.

Great sushi spot with some great fresh fish and awesome appetizers . Also you must try the Green Tea Creme Brûlée
Interesting place - feels authentic , not sure if it’s the best in NYC but worth a visit….totally no frill and staff are friendly
Amazing sushi place open for late night sushi-ing -- get the sushi deluxe at just before 2 am and be happy :)

staple and reputable sushi spot tucked away in the cellar/basement level. dimly lit japanese ambiance in the middle of soho
Great service, nice space, very solid and varied sushi options. Omakase definitely not worth it, but explore the menu yourself
great. totally solid choice for sushi . cannot go wrong here. plus they're open late
Salmon skin roll was amazing. Wait is long put your name in early then grab drinks at the Dutch or rouge and cannon while you wait.
The Kyuri Special is amazing...the salmon box sushi is amazing...the fact that they're open til 2am is amazing...but you'll drop at least $50 before you even start to feel full.
Had the sashimi deluxe and it was divine. The only tiny little improvement would be to have the option of brown rice . Not traditional, but healthier than white
Can't go wrong with anything off the menu . Get the seasonal sake . Great spot.
Best salmon sashimi I've ever had. Grilled eggplant and octopus salad are also standout. Exceptional service!
Great little sushi joint . Packed on a lunchtime with people being turned away. Try the katsu don..epic
Very polite waiters , tasty food and a good vibe. A bit loud though.
An authentic sushi place, good cold sake , perfect sushi with just the right size and perfect rice
Good, fresh sushi . They don't take reservations so get there before 7:30 or there will definitely be a wait.
Two seatings: 6:00 & 8:00pm. Loved the attention to detail in the setup, food, and service. Really fun vibe and each guest picks a song to play throughout the dinner from the vinyl collection! - Giulia M
The pork roast is amazing. Be careful or you won't leave room for sushi! - Jake Dunlap
Lovely oysters - condiments with a slight twist! Friendly bar staff too! - Frankie Buckle
Yes, it's worthy waiting in the line for the cronuts! Madeleines are very good too! Little but very cozy place! - Ivana CMS
