I think trader joes is one of the bests for grocery shopping or running errands. Verity of options but yet not too huge to get lost or exhausted.
Avocadoes ! peppers ! 2/$4-5 wine ! frozen Thai dumplings ! Soyfree! Glutenfree . Some local, mostly TJ brands(bulk)Bulk! hidden round corner, across West End library , near GWU& that circle between 22-24St
Look, I like Trader Joe's and their prices as much as the next person, but sometimes I just want the brands I'm familiar with. Also, it's impossible to find good baking stuff here.
I love Trader Joes . I go to GWU so I usually stop in after class to pick up a few groceries . The best part of it all it that they have a parking garage . Awesome!
Try the Magical Mystery bag of beer . You never know what you'll get and it's a great way to try new beers .
Shop the center aisles first, then get in line . Get your produce, dairy, alcohol , etc. as the line snakes around and you won't even notice the wait. Don't be fooled by the line length.
The pre-packaged meals have a sign with a great DC spin: Nixon proclaiming "I am not a cook!"
Lines are intimidating but move fast and are worth it for sweet, sweet cookie butter .
The line situation can get pretty unpredictable, but TJs is your personal adult playground for the 10 minutes before closing time on a Friday night. I'm not proud I know this.
It's a nice, small Trader Joe's but be warned: on the weekends the check-out lines are insanely long. As in, wraps through the entire store long.
Get your sample first then shop, you might get a new idea of what u want to eat. It's also never good to shop hungry
The Cabernet Sauvignon is the best Two Buck Chuck by a good measure. It's definitely worth picking up for an extra table wine on hand.
Not the best fresh meat , fish , veggies , or fruit . But, the absolute tastiest frozen food section! Very reasonable prices on wine and beer selections .
Produce is usually overripe so don't buy if you won't eat it in a day or two. Great for bread and dry ingredients. Frozen foods are great for work lunches when I don't have time to prepare beforehand.
Really friendly and helpful staff ! Line moves very fast!
Tasty items: frozen New York cheesecake , cinnamon coffee cake , frozen coconut shrimp
Love this place! Love the chocolate covered berries , dark chocolate pistachios . Everything is good! Of course, two buck chuck !! ;-)
Free cookies and coffee . Organic food is cheaper than whole food, free parking and nice stuff.
Oh yes... the line DOES wrap around the ENTIRE store at times... but fear not... it goes fast. Don't forget your reusable bags! (:
Great selection and fair prices . The line can get insanely long but the staff is amazing at getting through everyone incredibly quickly!
Cute guys in hoodies shop here. The line moves fast, even if it wraps around the store. Lots of tasty cheese .
Usually busy, but quick checkout. Good fresh options for a smallish grocery .
Get the tofu edamame nuggets. I became a fan after I tried a sample.
Great wine selection , knowledgeable staff .
The best! If you want a short wait time go here.
The soups are back!!! I can finally eat Lentil Grains soup every day for lunch :)
The line wraps around the entire store and takes 35 minutes to get through. And they are constantly out of EVERYTHING. Go to another Trader Joes if you can.
Don't worry when the line seems preposterously long. It moves really fast. The customer service and attention to detail is admirable. This is how everyone should do business.
Try the polenta . Cook it in a sauce pan w shredded monchego cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Delicious.
I find the lines are quickest right before closing. Yes, the lines are ALWAYS long. Yes, they are often quick, but NO, I still hate long lines none the less.
Guayaki Yerba mate with a little bit of skim milk and honey it a morning pick me up. Try it iced too.
Trader Joe's has a GREAT cleaning supplies isle! They have everything you need! :)
excellent choice of wines and sparkling in town
Try "La Finca" wines , good taste for good value !
Horrendously long lines on Sunday evenings so buyer beware. Yes they do work hard and keep all the registers open but it sucks when it takes 5 min to find what I need and 30 go check out :-/
Bring a friend and have him or her wait in line while you shop.
The line takes up more of the store than the shoppers do.
Organic produce at great prices
The berries are pretty good right now especially the blackberries
Line around lunch hour is pretty long. It moves fairly fast and there are lots of cashiers . I'm just buying lunch . Let's see how long it takes.
The organic food is cheaper than whole foods. The lines look long but it goes quickly!
Not this place is always jumping. Bring your own bags. The chicken breakfast sausage is yummm!
Don't count on TJs for bread , this is often the state of their bakery section. Haven't figured out exactly when they get new shipments yet.
Two Buck Chuck . Charles Shaw wine for 2.99. The way to go. Read more
The meats here are an incredible value. Try the filet, broiled. Delicious.
