This is a great zoo-they have many animals and the hippo cave is great-you can take in your own food - do not check bags when going in.they have a souvenir mug for 15.00 that you can fill for cheap
You will have a great three hours seeing active animals moving around except the Lion! Also, check out the train outside the zoo if you have kids. It is worth spending $3.50 for the train .
A great way to kill a few hours, however I don't recommend going in the afternoon in late summer. Not many animals were out, and the heat was killer. On average though the zoo is enjoyable.
Its a Zoo . If you like animals and long walks its great. They have many places to eat that will gladly rip you off and give you school cafe food. Bonus tip bring your own lunch they allow it.
The zoo is a great place for anyone to spend time around some animals. Zoo staff is always friendly and professional.
Very accessible with a clear route to visit all the parts of the park . No crowds early during the week. Typical fast food offerings in the new restaurant . Free parking !
Plan to visit the Butterfly Exhibit late on the day, between 5 and 6. It is less crowded and the butterflies are less timid!
Tip for those with toddlers: they have a whole kids section with a water area. Bring the suit and a change of clothes !
Kronkosky’s Tiny Tot Nature Spot is the hot spot here. Some fun activities to put on their to-do list include digging up carrots to feed the guinea pigs , looking for animal tracks and splashing in a s
An amazing place to spend the day. My grandson is 17 months old he could watch the monkeys play all day. There's nothing better than listening to him laugh.
If u have a membership go during the summer at 730!!!! Many of the animals are extremely active since its still kinda cool at that time! Also take a small cooler with drinks shops not open til 9am
This 100 year old Zoo is amazing. Don't miss the Butterfly exhibit when it is in season.
Great zoo : very green territory, very beautiful animals and hippo is a must see
Be sure to catch the hippos ' feeding time! They are most active just before and you can watch them get up out of the water. Feeding time is around 445PM
When I go I love to eat a popsicle or popcorn and feed the ducks ! It's always nice to feed
Best to come as soon as it opens.. More animals are out due to less heat. Bring your own bottles of water! :-)
I love the train ride and so do my kids! It's a great family place !
Magnificent! I spent the entire day there.
The season pass is way worth it! Can't beat it. Unlimited times to the zoo what could be better?
Look for the australian parrots. Fun and very nice place. Adults $15

The San Antonio Zoo is ranked as one of the best zoos in the nation exhibiting over 3,500 animals of 600 species.
sit and feed the ducks by the PEARL BREWERY ENTRANCE OF THE river , for a peaceful lunch , or just to have fun with your loved ones...
Tot spot is an awesome, cool down spot with restrooms and a nursing room !
I know some of the vending machines are expensive , but, keep in mind that all proceeds go to support the zoo . :)
Everything. This is an amazing zoo .
Was nice, clean , people we're friendly and the exhibits were great!
Check out the special area for kids under 5. There's a little "beach " with sand and water for kids to wade in. Also in this section: huge tortoises!
The zoo is nice just avoid during spring break it was overcrowded. The food was good!
You can feed the giraffes ! Fun for all ages
As expected, the shows get packed! Make sure to get there fifteen minutes in advance.
Buy the zoo membership . You get discounts on food and souvenirs, plus the animals could use your support and funding.
They have really made it nice. The carousel is awesome looking!!!
Buy a souvenir cup and get cheap refills
Must bring your little ones, bring lots of water tho, it's super long!! ????????????????????
Check out the Goodfellow Tree Kangaroo. He is awesome. I mean who has ever seen a kangaroo in a tree .
Amazing zoo with many natural landscapes for animals.
The zoo is awesome this time of the year by season passes you'll save a fortune!!!
Great variety of animals and environments
Go early while it is still cool. Africa Live is a must see.
Large zoo with fun facts about each animal.
Take your own food, food and service was horrible and way overpriced. Buy the refillable drink cup, $15 and you get refills for $1, can take it each you visit the zoo
Had lots of fun supporting the San Antonio Zoo
Everything is great
My kids loved it - reminded me of being here when I Was their age
Love taking the kids down to the zoo & seeing the animals. Kids love feeding Cheerios to the koi near the employee entrance. Bears ? Who cares - we want carp! Read more
Don't miss the Hippo they come from the deep
Make sure to eat/drink before you get here to avoid going bankrupt, but apart from this, I would say the zoo is one of the better ones I've ever been to.
