Japanese Tea Gardens is a botanical garden Uptown Broadway San Antonio located in United States.
3853 N Saint Marys St (btwn Tuleta Dr & Alvin St) San Antonio , TX 78212 United States
Though well-hidden and, during the summer months , hot, these beautiful gardens are the secret gem of the San Antonio park scene. The park houses several plaques explaining its rich history.
These gardens are a well-kept San Antonio secret, but they're beautiful and free. If you're making a special trip, call ahead as they sometimes close for special events .
I’m a San Antonio native and have seen the “Sunken Garden’s ” go through many stages. In the 60’s & 70’s it was a Hangout for all the “Hippies”. We had quite a few outdoor concerts and lots of fun! ????
With various flowers , waterfalls , and trees , the Japanese Tea Gardens serves as an excellent location for wedding shoots, senior portraits, prom photos, and more! Daily tours are offered as well .
Great place to come and relax in a tranquil environment. The grounds are beautiful and it’s free to get in.
Beautiful architecture blended in to the area. Nice on place for pictures and a walk. Down side lots of stairs if you have bad knees
Gorgeous! Great place to take photos and just stroll through the garden on a beautiful day.
This is an amazing place and will alway be a favorite because the love of my life proposed to me here on 9/24/11! Don't miss the beautiful pavilion view . Don't feed the wildlife though!
Adjacent to the Sunken Garden Theater in Brackenridge Park , features beautiful floral displays, a waterfall and a habitat for Koi and aquatic plants.
Absolutely beautiful!! You could make it through in less than 30 minutes!
Not the most typical thing to do when in San Antonio, but well worth a look. Small crowds make this place feel more special.
Destiny Islands or Texas? This is an amazing destination.
Lovely and peaceful , even on a Sunday afternoon. The flowers were not particularly exotic but the design of the gardens was beautifully done.
Eat at the cafe and get the teas and muffins !
Beautiful... But can be very hot if you go at the wrong time. Bring water and some type of shade... For example: cap or an umbrella... :-)
Such a beautiful area!!! Awesome place to hang out, go on a date and maybe even propose!
Take a moment to relax in the shade of the rock house which is the oldest standing structure in this lush garden , built in 1915 by artist Kimi Eizo Jingu.
.don't forget to try out the cafe !(:
