Everything was yum. The tuna tataki was sensational. I enjoyed the yuzu Bellini . I got our booking date wrong and the staff did their best to accommodate us ❤️
One of the best breakfasts of the year with masterful flavours and techniques only possible by a kitchen of this calibre. Sokyo is a marvel!! Full review is now up on Spooning Australia.
The $60 sashimi platter is an amazing starter BUT make sure you order some toro or oysters -totally worth it and so fresh. Four different dipping sauces provided = great for all palettes ????????????
Chef Chase Kojima deserves every single accolade bestowed on him. Dishes are exquisite, innovative and totally refreshing. Try the "new" style sashimi and sushi rolls . Robata dishes are also strong.
One of the best japanese restaurants i tried. Miso cod is rich, tasty and perfectly cooked. Tuna crispy rice is brilliant. Yuzu souffle dessert - nice concept though i felt it was too citrussy.
Although i personally prefers traditional Japanesefood, i must say the food at Sokyo was excellent. Get the COD ,Crispy sushi , omakase , and desserts ! Read more
Amazing beef skewers ! Tender and juicy can't get any better than this!!! And the unassuming Queenslander sushi roll ... Sure packs with flavour!!
$5 drinks at the Sokyo lounge between 5-7pm weeknights. Order a drink right on 7pm to take in with you for dinner - save yourself $10 with one minute spare :)
Fantastic restaurant with interesting and delicious dishes. Great oysters and loved the Wagyu short rib tataki . Cocktails also very good ????
1 year on and still without a doubt the best jap food in Sydney! Better than sake and toko and I rate them highly. The food is more adventurous and flavorsome
Green tea fondant was hands down one of the best tasting desserts I've ever eaten. Ever.
Definitely have a margarita or the 'Mochi Mochi ' cocktails at the bar . And if dining at the restaurant , try to get a table in the feature room downstairs, much quieter and private.
Very good sushi and robata items. Loved the tempura fish , pumpkin and squid . Sashimi platter was delicious too.
Great cocktails and delicious food. Service staff were excellent and the cuisine top notch.
Pork sashimi ???? is to die for!! Ah mazing! Comes with salty caramel sauce !
The beef skewers are seriously amazing. Seriously. Amazing.
Raw material is amazing fresh and nice. The sushi uses more than vinegar, maybe lemonade ?
Wow!!! Amazing food, amazing service. Great drinks to match. Take a mystery menu and let the waiter pick the dishes :)
Some of the food is exquisite but kitchen closed mid meal and couldn’t order more. Now heading somewhere else to complete evening. Compared to other options, overpriced.
Amazing food and not too expensive . Great celebratory dinners and dates.
The Citibank wine is excellent. Worth $80 on the menu. Free!!
Sit at the bar and let the sushi chef take care of you. Don't even look at the menu.
Modern Japanese, great service and ok dessert
Went in August 15 for a family dinner . Agreed best Japanese restsurant we've been to in Sydney
Morton bay bug sashimi , short rib tataki , mulloway, sirloin , Queensland roll, and spicy roll ... Delicious
Now serving breakfast..try the traditional choushoku breakfast on the a la carte menu.
Mixed feeling. Not that the food is bad just pricey for what it is. Coffee dessert , any maguro/Toro, clear Kyoto soup were great. Tempura was ok. Prob won't come back. Too many whiny kids present.
Try the Dessert Tasting Platter - A special nut-free dessert tasting platter for my birthday! #foodspotting
Moreton Bay Tempura , Miso Cod , Sushi . Fantastic service
The spicy salmon udon at breakfast is really nice
Full menu is served at the bar if they're at capacity in the dining room.
Try the pork sashimi with salted caramel - awesome!
The spicy tuna crispy rice was the bomb. ????
The sushi omakase !!
First cocktail in the menu it s amazing!
Excellent food, drinks and service. Never been disappointed
Great DJ makes the place fun on a sat night
Great modern Japanese menu
Pork belly robata was the standout dish.
Disappointed this visit. Sat at bar for 10 minutes and bartender just ignored me. I was the only customer. Eventually a waiter took my order. Cocktail looked good but tasted very average.
Loved this restaurant . Food is fab.
Disappointing food with the Western/Japanese fusion done wrong. Quality of sashimi or cooked foods was not there. Atmosphere was way too noisy and service was often slow and irresponsive. Not worth.
Ok you gotta have the Tai Ceviche nigiri . You just gotta man!
When the staff order for you
The Wagyu T-bone steak is awesome!
Japanese breakfast buffet
Tuna . @@ soky
Sushi is fantastic! Some if the best in Sydney.
Great happy hour ! $5 drinks from 5pm - 7pm!
For Specially selected dishes from the chef .. Sit at the sushi counter
