Award-winning curry puff , incl Michelin Bib Gourmand, Rolina operates here. Unit 02-15 next to chicken rice stall. Pregnant, with lots of ingredients. Also sells with sardine and pumpkin fillings
Many great food options here. I have to go again. Lucky Wanton Noodle really did make me fee lucky. Also spotted ginger chicken soup and ginormous es kacang.
Fried Jap rice . While Yao Japanese Rice House #02-42 presents its dishes as omurice, they are not. It’s more fried white rice with various protein options (like chicken or salmon ). Still delicious????????
Upper Cross Street Soya Sauce Chicken : chicken tender but not as tender as Michelin Star , noodles bouncy like Basketball , dumplings crunchy with chestnuts , and free chicken butts if you ask. 7/10
Satay Bee Hoon . Looking for this hard-to-find dish. Make a beeline to Teochew Satay Bee Hoon #02-46. This is the $5 size, feeds 2 reasonably. Tasty sauce, generous ingredients
Braised duck rice . Wanted to enjoy a plate from Wei Kee #02-22 but the brusque order taking by the younger person felt unwelcomed. Anyway, meat could do with more flavours, despite being evenly cooked
Tau suan. While the split mung beans from Yimei #02-17 were properly cooked, base was very starchy/sticky. Black sesame bowl was also overly thickened
Try the colourful kueh from kueh ho jiak, looks and tastes awesome! I tried the soon kueh and rice kueh. Stall owner was super friendly as well .
For good value cut fruits & fruit juice , cross the level 2 to the next block #01-02 fruit stall. Pineapple juice $1. Half a pear $1.50
#stervylicious #nasilemak - best day ! Its TGIF!! N what a sumptuous brekky I had today.:) Tried the famous nasi lemak Chinese stall... Try it if u haven't - pandan leaf nasi lemak/#02-25.
Nasi Lemak . 香香哪唏噜嗎 #02-08 sees long lunch queues on working days. Chilli is good: sweet & not overly spicy . Fried chicken wing lacks flavours though
Lor mee . Enjoyed my $4 bowl from Soon Heng #02-19. Lots of textures with their generous ingredients. Lor sauce was not overly starchy
Soy sauce chicken noodle . Aromatic bird from Upp Cross St Soya Sauce Chicken #02-11. Not as juicy as I'd prefer but overall good
Nasi lemak . Unimpressed with overall dish from Makan Sutera #02-39. While rice was lightly fragrant & chilli sauce substantially spicy sweet, the other fried items were a waste of space. $3 for this
Fishball noodles . Average bowl from Blue Star #02-29. Factory-made fishballs. Alternative to home-style Teo Chew Fishball Noodle #02-47 nearby, when queues are long there
Economy rice . 'Chai png' stall Ming Kee #02-24 offers affordable , choice dishes. Popular during working day lunch
The crowd is typically limited to business day lunch . A LOT quieter on holidays & weekends
Fantastic hawker center with a good variety of stalls. Everything I've tried has been tasty and best of all quite reasonably priced!
Thai food . Enjoyed the basil fried rice (with egg ) from Issan #02-13. Freshly prepared
Vegetarian options : yong tau foo , lontong, thunder tea rice , local desserts , beancurd , grass jelly , fruits , mushroom hor fun , chai tow kway
Kopi (local coffee ): Compared several stalls & asked some stall-holders. Ah Teck Coffee Stall #02-24 is d favourite. D flavour & taste were smoother. A close 2nd is nearby Ka Fei Xiang #02-19
Wantan noodles : Lucky (stall 02-33). I come here 4 succulent, well-caramelised char siew , & crispy wantans! Still find bak pok bits (fried pork lard ), addg fragrance 2 d alrdy mouth-waterg dish
Caifan (economy rice ). Affordable meal from Jia Mei #02-28. This plate of rice with 4 dishes $4.20
Ming Kee Cooked Food is a must try too, from speciality meat eggs to curry chicken and their pork chop . to their fried fish nuggets shaped in circle. must try :)
Fried kway teow (flat rice noodles ). The version from Peter Fried Kway Teow Mee #02-05 dry. While sweet, it lacks other flavours. Didn't come across any fried lard cubes
Daily Greens - Great affordable pasta & salad . Also, free soup with every purchase as part of their opening promotion. MUST visit.
For Homemade Soya Bean , Tahuae & Chin Chau lovers... Head over to #02-41. A big glass cost a dollar, expensive but worth it. I mean these days day by day these kinda drinks stalls are goin extinct. :(
Try out every menu available at Tiong Bahru Roasted Meat stall. You will not be disappointed. Dry Dumpling noodles will definitely win your heart.
Should try japanese popular dishes and pasta at KITCHEN@WORK, cook by 20+years experience Chef Roger!
Try the chap cai peng at Ming Kee Cooked Food at #02-25. Remember to ask for their excellent chilli sauce !
A must try Japan Cuisine ! The boss is so friendly & nice. Next up definitly leave it to the Ming Kee Cooked Food , serve with delicious mixed rice ~
Still my favourite among the other stalls!!
Kazan Japanese Cuisine #02-18, 4 out of 5 stars. Recommended meal set: salmon teriyaki , chicken teriyaki , tori karaage , and katsu (pork ) curry don. Be warned, long queue during lunch hour.
Annie's Peanut Ice Kachang had moved to Ghom Moh and will not return. The store replacing it is also selling peanut ice kachang! No idea whether is it nice.
The food centre is now back open. Many stalls have changed since it was closed for almost a year, so many of the tips here are obsolete.
Good food, good prices but very hot and a pain to get a seat
Kazan Jap food is really pretty good! Had e Pork curry rice . Pork is well cooked n crispy , but rice can be cooked better n more generous.
Love the Niang Doufu and the tasty soup . The stall is the one by the sisters, facing the Duxton HDB Flats direction, right next to the stairs.
The fruit juice stand is great in the middle of center. 4th row.
林记鱼汤板面 is my fave! Try the tom yum mee hoon kueh. Home cook feel!
Food centre finally reopen after 1 year. There are some new stalls to check out too...!!!
Try Herbal Kitchen's signature herbal chicken ! Chicken is so soft it peels off from d bone! Shiok ! #02-11 stall
Hainanese Chicken Rice . An average plate Jin Fa #02-16. That's all
Go try the Nasi lemak at Pandan Leaf Nasi Lemak . Freaking cheap ! Review - http://prodigious.sg/pandan-leaf-nasi-lemak/
The Issan Thai food here is very good!! Tian xin Dou hua shui also good
Awesome paper-wrapped herbal chicken soup + rice at #02-17.
Huge food portion for the basil chicken @$4.50 only at #02-23 Nissan Thai food
If you are char kway teow afficianado, you should have this tanjong pagar fried kway teow on your "bee there done that" list.
must try the wan ton mee , best...Cantonese style , old couple selling, stall is near to shun li coffee stall ...juz quote 靓仔。
Fried carrot cake : There r 2 stalls. Prefer stall 02-51 as it's less oily, & more imptly, more flavourful!
Feeling lucky... LOL. Great wanton here. well seasoned with hint of dried fish. Well done. #ThomtoriEats - Ian Thomtori
Takes a while for me to get over the salty lei cha broth. Only if u crave for this dish when in the area. - Ting
A popular lunchtime stall with the working crowd. Lots of dish options & affordable - Cheen The Curious
Ginseng chicken from the Korean stall S$6.50. Huge drumstick with a lot of meat. Worth it! - Vivienneeluv
