Hong Kee Beef Noodle - recipient of Michelin Bib Gourmand 2016 award. Get extra chili - make it spicy ! Delicious!! Try to come before 1 or 1:30 - all the best stalls sell out by then!!

Jonathan Lim

Check out A Noodle Story (#01-39) for their take on Singapore-style ramen , it is interesting and more importantly delicious!

Kars Alfrink

Huge, many great stalls but A Noodle Story deserves a special mention for their Singapore-style ramen , which sounds like a ridiculous idea but turns out to be very tasty and value for money .

Christina Michele

Try Noodle Story / Authentic Thai (pictured - everything they make is incredible - Thai cook!) or Hong Kee Beef Noodle . Make sure u save a seat w a pack of tissues-it can get packed. Prepare to queue!

Wantan mee : There r 2 WTM stalls facing ea other on 2/F. Wah Kee's dumplings r bigger. Char siew (BBQ pork ) slices r thicker too. These make their noodle dish something more substantial to bite in2

Cheen The Curious

Hakka Curry from Happy Yummy #02-128 is served with deliciously crispy fried chicken . Curry is made without coconut milk/cream, which is only poured over rice . This $5 plate served with fried egg

Cheen The Curious

Fried fish lala pao fan. Fell in love with the soup flavours from Le Kitchen Seafood Pao Fan #02-120. Drank up most of the soup from this $5.50 bowl. Then we ordered another home! ????

Cheen The Curious

Braised duck noodles $4. The feature at Kim Men Seng Heng #02-133 is the light yet fragrant chilli to be mixed with the noodles . Yummy. Then there’s a separate smoky dipping chilli sauce for the meat

Cheen The Curious

Traditional kaya toast . Ah Seng (Hai Nam) Coffee #02-95 prepares this local favourite over a charcoal stove . Visit early (they open from 5:30am) to get a distinct whiff of smokiness in the air

Cheen The Curious

Epok epok (curry puff ). Subdued curry flavours from J2 Crispy Curry Puffs #01-22. Crust was light, chicken curry filling soft. $1.40 for this

Cheen The Curious

Pork Ribs Lamian ($5). 三好骨汤面 (San Hao Gu Tang Mian) #02-132 is garnering fans. Ordered the original & was rewarded with flavourful soup stock. Lean pork cuts. Generous cabbages . Mala option available

Cheen The Curious

Bak chor mee 2: Ah Ter 01-14 serves a decent bowl with a variety of ingredients (fishball, sliced fish cakes , pork & liver , stewed mushrooms ). Wasn't impressed overall, for all the hype & PR it got.

Cheen The Curious

Fresh fruits (cut or juice ). Rejoice Fruit Juice #02-89 keeps sliced fruits on display limited, to minimise wastage from oxidation (reducing vitamins). U know u r getting ur fruits fresh

Cheen The Curious

French toast . $3.50 from Ah Seng (Hai Nam) Coffee #02-95. What's unique are: charcoal toasted, butter & kaya in between the sliced bread , plus an additional dollop of kaya by the side????????

Cheen The Curious

Sliced fish soup . Plenty of stalls offering this. Tried out Wangwang Handmade Noodles & Fish Soup #01-54. Enjoyed this $6 sliced fish soup + rice , with a $2 top-up of fried fish ????

Spoilt for choice hawker centre (Tanjong Pagar Mrt exit G). Avoid lunch time peak hours (12-2pm) and it will be a lot more pleasant. Other than old favorites, can even find Costa Rican cuisine here!

Cheen The Curious

Chilli ban mian. Enjoyed a mid-sized bowl ($5.50) from Mdm Leong Traditional Ban Mian #02-209. Well-presented overall. Chilli was spicy . Meatballs & ‘tau ki’ (beancurd skin) tasted processed

Cheen The Curious

Vegetarian bee hoon . Nothing memorable from non-descript stall #01-44 Healthy Vegetarian (No Garlic & Onion ). This plate of noodles with bean curd chips & curry $3. Added a serving of vege +$1

Cheen The Curious

Vietnamese drip coffee $2.20. Vietnamese stall Life Coffee #02-134 offers this as well as banh-mi. Premium coffee did not wow me over, although it has a hint of the aromatics. Perhaps it was diluted

Cheen The Curious

Sarawak Laksa . Memorable $6 bowl from Swan City Noodlehouse #02-105. Enjoyed the uniquely thick & aromatic gravy . Not overly spicy . Would order again ????????

Cheen The Curious

Bak chor mee (minced pork noodles ): Yummy BCM meal @ #02-101. Noodles were 'q' (springy), sliced liver was fresh, & sauce was well-balanced with vinegar. Wd eat this again!

Elaine Courtney

Ah Ter's on level 1 has some of the best minced meat noodles you can find around here: think springy noodles soaked in an umami sauce, a tasty broth with some choice morsels, and an unbeatable price.

Cheen The Curious

Appam . U can get this snack from Thambi's #02-92, which also sells biryani . My egg appam went well with curry . Makes for a suitable light meal

Jerrald Ng

Order the Black Pepper Beef Rice from the "Pepper Bowl" stall (#02-102); top up 60cents for an onsen egg ! Avoid lunch timing as this place is popular among the office workers from the area.

Nevermore

Amoy Street Food Centre is located in the heart of Chinatown and has stalls spread over two floors, so there is plenty of choice. It is also home to several of Michelin’s listed Bib-Gourmand stalls

Cheen The Curious

Chicken cutlet noodles . The cutlets served from Swan City Noodlehouse #02-105 were spiced with black pepper . A treat for chilli fans ????

Stervey Lim

Cheen The Curious

Lor Mee . Yuan Chun Famous Lor Mee #02-79. Enjoyed the 'light' sauce & meatball . Order the bigger bowl $5 for more toppings ????????

Cheen The Curious

Curry rice . As a 'chai png' (economic rice ) stall , Yuguo Curry Rice #01-13 has limited dishes. However, pork chop & stewed vege were decent. Curry is aromatic & not spicy

Cheen The Curious

Wantan noodles ($4). Decent plate from Wen Xiu Ji #01-31. Char siew (BBQ pork ) slices were tender. I didn’t enjoy the thicker skin on the wantans, nor their firmer pork filling

Cheen The Curious

Biryani . Thambi's #02-92 serves dum biryani , with the rice not heavily spiced, and yet being able to taste the aromatic flavours sealed in

Kars Alfrink

Cheen The Curious

Black pepper pork hor fun . Lapped up the whole bowl from Pepper Bowl #02-102. Full of flavours, generous with vege
