Coco Shake Shack stall (across from famous Tian Tian Hianese chicken rice ) - coconut shake (pictured) or Thai tea . Best way to cool off + stay hydrated. Warning: addictive! I crave them daily!
Vegetarian options : specialty vegetarian , fruits , local snacks & desserts , prata , beancurd , vegetable bao , buns , spinach noodles , Indian vegetarian , banana fritters , rojak , popiah , salad , tapioca cake
興興 #31 ondeh ondeh and tapioca cake . They have light, wobbly bodies. Gula melaka and pandan flavours come through in the ondeh ondeh, but the tapioca cake and shredded coconut topping are a bit bland.
You don't need another person telling you to go here for the chicken rice , do you? Or maybe you do. Go here for the chicken rice .
Rice congee . Zhen Zhen 01-54 prepares smooth & comforting rice porridge . Popular orders: fish , chicken+century egg , pork . Stir in the brownish & salty chai por (chopped fermented radish ) for flavour
Wantan noodles with a twist. Fu Ji Fu Zhou Yu Yuan Wanton Mee #01-06 serves this local favourite with Fuzhou fishballs - stuffed with pork . Generous ingredients
Roast meats . Expect long queues at #01-71 Fu Shun Shao La Mian Jia 福顺 (锦记) 烧腊面家 during lunchtimes. Enjoyed moist, old school roasted duck & pork ???????? Chilli sauce packs a punch too! This combo $4.50
Braised duck noodles ($5). The thick soy sauce gravy from Oriental Stall #01-19 was so aromatic, it brought me back in time. Lots of flavour. Meat was tender too. Extra braised egg for 80-cents
Great food ar good price. We had the delicious kimchi chicken ramen from ‘Korean Cuisine’. our kids had a nice burger at ‘Lad and Dad’. The Food Centre even got a small beer shop with beer on tap .
Nasi lemak ($4.50). Decent serving by Traditional Family Cuisine #01-67. Rice was lightly fragrant. Sambal chilli moderately spicy , with a slight sweetness. Fried chicken batter has a smooth texture
Great selection of food and drinks from Southeast Asia . You can have a big lunch for $5! Try the chicken rice from Hong Xiang stall - worth the wait!
The braised pork at Duck Noodle Oriental Stall was killer. 100% underwhelmed by the famous chicken and rice spots.
Thai food @ Sisaket Thai Food #01-85. Nice alternative to local fare . Enjoyed my basil chicken rice $5.50. Individual rice & noodle dishes popular. Long wait on working day lunch time
Curry chicken mee! Fresh sugarcane juice ! The shaved ice desserts ! OMG you're going to eat too much, but it's going to be worth the bellyache of trying to deal with a hot day on a full stomach.
Brilliant place for tasting local cuisine at its best! Always grab a table before you start queuing at the food stalls . Recommend curry rice and coconut milk right from the coconut :)
Mr. Appam #01-99. Genuine recipe, by Viet chef . Stick to traditional appams (plain, egg , cheese ) or with firm toppings. This ground peanut $2.80 looks nice on pic, but messy to eat, as it spills over
Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles ). Wet & savoury-sweet style from Marina South Delicious Food #01-15. Their bigger $5 plate can feed 2 adults!
For me the best food market in Singapore! Many stands so you will find all tastes od asia there! Fresh coconut is soooo yummy!!!
Kopi (local coffee ). Ho Peng #01-27 sees a constant stream of customers all morning. Kopi-O (espresso-like) is thick & bitter. Order with sugar and/or milk (condensed/evaporated) to taste
Fried bee hoon (rice vermicelli ). A popular local breakfast fare . I enjoyed a plate from #01-18, topping it up with stir-fried cabbage & a fried egg
EAT EVERYTHING!!! Laksa , Prawn Mee , Fried Turnip Cake , (the infamous) Tian Tian Chicken Rice , Char Kway Teow , and the list goes on.
The difference of $5 (extra few pieces of meat) and $3 portion of chicken rice . If you do not mention that you want $3, automatically the lady boss will served you the $5.Take note ????
One of my favorite food courts . The rice chicken here is supposed to be famous but is sold out after lunch . Look for the busy stalls. In the evenings it gets much more relaxed.
#stervylicious #meesiam - best weekend :) found a hidden stalll at a corner selling mee siam .. :p ... Very interesting gravy n u must try ... Sold by a Chinese owner. - HaHa MeiShi /#01-22
Home to Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken (as featured by Anthony Bourdain ) and also Zhen Zhen Porridge .

Very lively hawker centre at night. Plenty of stalls open. A bonus for the many tourists who visit on the cooler hours of the day
Must try China Street Rickshaw Noodles . Only $1-1.50 per bowl. Tip: choose sides (ones you'd like fried up like egg , luncheon meat, fish cake , etc) and get number tag before Q-ing to order noodles .
Pork chop fried rice ($6.50). Decent plate from Jiang Nan Wei Dao #01-62. Both pork chop & fried rice not as aromatic as King of Fried Rice , & pricier
Make your own selection by going to all the different hawker food stalls . Satay lamb , fruit , fish broth, all tasty!
Zhen Zhen Porridge - with a selection of ingredients. Must try their raw fish salad !! And be prepare for the long queue
Varieties of local food, western and now even theres a small bar around the corner. Amazing. Local, foreigners, western, european, indians, like to come here.
Great place to meet up with the locals! When you visit Chinatown at lunchtime, share a table and have a traditional chicken rice . Great experience!
Great collection of food stalls . Most notable for Tian Tian Chicken Rice , but there are many other delicious bakeries and food stalls to try!
Get the duck noodles and or the mixed meat plate at stall 71. The guy is hilarious too!
Famous Tian Tian Chicken Rice (look out for blue signage) serves steamed chicken rice . Request to remove bones! Order sugarcane drink (with lemon ) from any of the drink stalls. Avoid lunch timing.
(4/5) Spacious , clean(er), and neatly organized , with plenty of seating and fans to try to keep the heat at bay . Sit towards the outside if you want to stay cooler though!
Another great hawker in Chinatown with one of Sg's best chicken rice . Don't miss other snacks here too like peanut soup dessert , Hum Jin Pang (#01-28).
So much choice!! But the most famous store here is the Hainanese chicken rice . If you are hungry, order something else too.
Classic hawker market . Lots of great food to choose from. Perfect for a work crew.
Given all the tips for the fish soup , I was expecting more. Still, it was very tasty nonetheless. Goreng Pisang was a win too: semi-riped, batter-covered banana fried to perfection. Have it hot!
Wantan mee : Huang Ji Wanton Noodle (stall 26) serves a healthy-looking dish. Char siew slices r not overly sweet, generous kailan (Chinese kale ). But the heroes r the nearly golf-ball size wantans!
Kueh Tutu. Fragrant ground peanut filling from Aftertaste #01-73. Grated coconut filling was not overly sweet. $3 for a box of 5. There’s also choc filling
Tian Tian closes on Monday, so tried the brother store Ah Cai 2 stalls next. Not as hygiene as it feels but tastes quite good. The Black Olive fried rice at the corner Thai store is fabulous though.
$5 for this plate of hainanese chicken rice . Gizzard is $3. Chicken is smooth, rice is very fragrant as per Anthony Bourdain commented.. Be prepare to queue for 20-30min
My 3 recommendations: Tian Tian Chicken Rice , Lao Ban Soya Beancurd and a Fried Sweet Potato Dumpling .
Ramen . Delicious ramen from Ramen Taisho #01-32. We sampled their chashu bowl. Broth was thick & left a lingering desirable aftertaste
Hor fun (fried rice noodles in gravy ). This fast food is served by Special Shanghai Tim Sum #01-92. Not much ingredients for my medium-sized order of $4 though
Best chicken rice! Order half or whole chicken to share is more cost effective. - Wyvern Lim
