Hands down my favorite bar in Tokyo . English speaking. Amazing bar/speakeasy with great drinks. Call beforehand to confirm seating availability. They just opened a location in Paris.

Smaller and more intimate than its sister bars , Bar Trench offers amazing cocktails and great ambiance. No smoking! Lots of tourists/ex-pats if you care about that.

This place is hidden away between 2 major roads on a side street. The old fashioned is amazing and the C’est la vie Sour is incredible. I can’t imagine you could go wrong with any signature drink !

Chill NYC like bar with some very attentive staff and great cocktails . Get the mezcal or whiskey ones and sit at the bar .

Their range in abilities here is really great. From a smokey Old-Fashioned to a White Negroni to a Vieux Carré, all the drinks we had were well-balanced and delicious.

expensive but worth it- try the dandy cocktail . if there's a wait, bar tram (around the corner) is run by the same owners

Amazing assortment of drinks, personally a big fan of the Cachaça Martinez, but give the bartender an idea of what you like and they will hook you up with a drink that works.

Absinthe features with Traditional sugar cube drips, and the 'green fairy' in cocktails such as a 'frappe '. If aniseed is not your thing try the Mezcal based mule variation "Dark Side of the Moon".

A classical bar with a slant towards absinthe , Trench is the second best bar in Japan, according to the World’s 50 Best Bars Academy.

Cozy spot with few sister bars nearby - Bar triad (more whisky and Gin options). They update cocktail menu every quarter

Absinthe bar with sugar cube drips as well as the cocktails such as a 'frappe ' with lime , if psychedelic aniseed-flavoured spirits are not your thing try Get Behind the Mule.

Incredible cocktails , intimate setting and English-speaking staff who can make thoughtful recommendations. Worth the splurge.

Tiny cocktail bar hidden in an alley in Ebisu -- if you manage to snag seats, the drinks are all incredible, and the bartenders are very friendly .

One of the few cocktail bars of this caliber that has an actual menu, and it's a great menu. Delightful little space, excellent drinks.

The off menu whiskey and absinthe cocktail called Van Gogh's Downfall is now my downfall. Perfecto!

The bartender has lots of great recommendations for absinthe ; you'll get a personal water fountain to cloud your drink with.

Absolutely creative recipes, worth to try many of them. Not a large selection of whiskeys / gin however. Great decor and friendly staff !
