Very decent food court in orchard. Smaller but better than Ion’s and Shaw’s, with a focus on local food. Most stalls are of good standard.

Although the black sauce KL hokkien Mee is authentic but it cost $6 for small plate is too exp. I can have 4 even 5 plates in KL! The $5 char kway teow pretty good! $3 laksa is spicy ! Go for all,Once.

Hainanese curry rice is basically white rice , braised cabbage , fried egg & choice of meat (pork , fish , prawn or squid ) – drizzled with a light curry sauce . Simple, comforting

Budget meal SGD 1.80 (USD 1.30). Steamed pork bun ('big pau', photo right) was filling. It's the size of almost 2 fists. There's also a slice of hard-boiled egg ! 'Siew mai ' (prawn dumpling ) is $0.90

Claypot chicken rice . KL Claypot Rice serves a novelty: rice cooked in claypot for a smoky complex taste. Locals enjoy letting the hot pot cook the rice some more till slightly charred for some crunch

Yong Tau Foo (food items with fish paste stuffing). There's a stall by Koo Kee, an established chain in SG. The $6.80 set offers a complete meal, although they have plenty of other plant-based options

Fishball noodles . 85 Redhill Teochew Fishball Noodle . $4 for basic noodle bowl & just fishballs. $5 gets u this bowl of mixed items including a pork-blended fishball, fishcake slices, fish dumpling

This small food court is indeed has many good food from laksa , soon kueh, penang chendol . However the seat is too limited, the portion is quite smaller than normal food court , but reasonable price.

Chilli ban mian was decent. They use sous vide egg technique???? Chilli paste can be separated if u wish to control the level of spiciness

There are toilets here. Look for the sugar juice stall. They are located somewhere in the middle of the rows of stalls, towards the wash area at the back.

Wantan noodles . The wantans (boiled dumplings ) from Ding Ji were silky. However their char siew (BBQ pork ) slices were harder to chew. Generous dollop of boiled vege

Cendol is decent from Famous Penang Road Chendol . It's a popular local dessert made of droplets of green rice flour , in coconut milk & palm sugar syrup

Char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles ). Not aromatic. $5 is the smallest order. 2 mid-sized prawns , generous taugeh (bean sprouts ). Lightly-spiced. No dark soy sauce used

The 'famous' Ban Chang Kuih is light & brittle. The batter is so paper thin that I kept spilling the ground peanut-sugar mix. Not a relaxing snack

The laksa in Apr 2022: not Sungei road laksa anymore. What it was, I don't know - it wasn't even dignified with a stall name. It was not Sungei road quality but was pretty good, with generous toppings

Fried oyster omelette (or chien). Jia Jia Penang stall serves a lame dish. $5 smallest plate. 4 mid-sized oysters . Chilli sauce was sweet. Omelette was not thoroughly fried that it's still gooey ????????

Sungei Road laksa excellent. Penang ckt excellent. Penang Orh Luah very good. Cendol so so. Ban chang kueh alright.

Security cameras everywhere. Look up & u will find a disproportionate number of CCTV cameras everywhere!

Such a hidden gem of a foodcourt. cheap and delicious! try the fishball noodles !

O no induced-stress @ work gravitates me towards carb-laden comfort food - Yum Penang Char Kway Teow @ Tangs Market ????

The KL hokkien mee is a little bit hard and stiff and hardly slurp-able. But.. The saving grace of this place is the Penang Char Kuay Teow.

The Fishball noodles here is surprising good and only $4! Ask for extra chilli and vinegar!

Penang char kway teow is good. Do not try the KL hokkien mee . It's not fried, it's just braised in the sauce. No wok hei at all!

Mee siam was rather average. $3.70 for this plate which is served with one hard boiled egg . Gravy wasn’t outstanding

Sungei road laksa - pretty good if u like thick curry soup . Penang Hokkien mee is too sweet for my liking. Love the Shun kueh.
