If there's one thing we need when we go here, it's the potato latkes . Traditional, savory, and served with sides of sour cream and applesauce . Perfect for an app or as a meal on their own.

Can't-miss breakfast menu . Turkey hash , generous omelets , open-faced challah BLT, anything off the griddle. If you're with a group, get an order of pancakes or French toast for the table.

Good brunch place . Expect a long wait . So get here early and make sure all your party is there to be seated. Recommendations: Empire Eggs , San Francisco Joe's Special and Banana Stuffed French Toast .

A bit off campus, Zaftigs is huge at BU with both students and parents! You can't go wrong with any meal. Expect to wait, but so worth it! Coffee is amazing - try the chocolate raspberry french toast .

We tried the Mac n Cheese , the Monte Cristo and Lemon Chicken but everything lacked flavor (and texture for the Mac n Cheese ). Potato latkes were the only saviour. And why such uninterested waitstaff ?

While the breakfast sandwich is excellent, the potato pancakes are the main attraction here.  If it is your first time, try the Empire Eggs to hit all the necessary food groups.

I love the Empire Eggs . However, now that I found out I have celiac disease I can not enjoy it anymore. They still have a great gluten free menu .

I've never been disappointed once in the eight years I've been going to Zaftigs. The brunch is out of this world, their homefries are where it's at!

It's not easy to find great chopped liver , and they do it like your bubbie would!

Never disappointed here. Corned beef hash is unbelievably tasty and the bagel chips are an awesome start to the meal.

Try the Bbq brisket quesadilla , it's delicious. Very crowded on weekends during brunch time so get here early, it's worthy

Worth the hour wait... Everything is amazing from the chocolate French toast to the banana stuffed French toast to the eggs Benedict .

The fried egg BLT on challah is my go-to breakfast and the hot roast beef sandwich with mushroom gravy is a go-to lunch . This is a can't miss menu overall.

Come early on a Sunday because anytime after 12 will be an absolute madhouse and you can wait up to an hour for 2!!
