Had to line up on the pavement to get in but it was TOTALLY WORTH THE WAIT! The lamb curry is delicious and the Roti Canai truly is as good as everyone had told me. Highly recommended.
If you like it spicy , try the fish curry n ask for plain roti instead of the roti canai,Or you will just end up with a lot of curry . Must end your meal with the Roti bom accompanied with icecream !
Wow, how can you not love this place. This place is so busy and when you taste the food you know why. I come here every time I go to the city
Mee Goreng is pretty decent, just a shy of pure authenticity . Don't forget to squeeze the lime all over and ask for chilli sauce if you want some chilli kick dancing .
Their curry with roti is the nice. Dessert rotis are delicious!
The coconut milk rice in Nasi Lemak and beef satay were less than ideal, but so far this has been the best Malay food I have ever had outside of Malaysia.
Awesome. Menu is small but really good. Service is lightning fast and all food arrives within 10 minutes of ordering. The drinks are excellent too. Never had anything I didn't like off the menu .
Nasi lemak with chicken curry accompanied by a sweet roti
Mamak remains. The bastest. Have faith in the wisdom of random internet tips and stay away from the roti murtabak . The plainest roti is the original and the best. Egg roti bats one down.
Wow, bread here with curries is so amazing. It’s unbelievably tasty. Take two
What is not good. Had almost all the menu and i still love going for a roti canai or planta with chicken curry followed by some satay sticks or even some fish curry .
We always come back for more of their chicken satay and rojak salad . Curry isn't that nice. Roti are delicious. Come late at night no queueing.
The famous Malasian restaurant in Sdyney. The long line but it is worth the time for waiting. The Roti tissue,a crispy and sweet roit with ice-cream,is the dessert that I recommendes.
Go for the classic roti canai . Ayam goreng is their version of fried chicken , totally delicious! And top it off with ice Milo. One of the best restaurants in Sydney!
Simple, quick and amazing. You can't go wrong here and definitely worth the wait.
Get there when it opens as a queue forms well before opening time! The roti planta and kari kambing are must orders!!! Avoid the beef satay which was tough and chewy!
Their curry with roti is nice though the curry is a bit spicy . Dessert rotis are delicious!
The roti canai and spicy lamb curry are both amazing!
Roti , lam curry , mie goreng , and fried chicken . Service is slow and not great. Byob !
A plate of roti - Ayam fried chicken and some teh tarik .... Heaven! You can't book here and the lines are long- so come here early e.g. 11:30am Organise your next hangout here using http://Chillwith.me
A plain roti and lamb curry is one of the best things to eat in the whole city . You can avoid queues at lunch on weekdays
It's gets extremely busy so you might be waiting a while. However, it's totally worth it. All the currys are fantastic.
Chicken satay are so good, roti is great. Used to the queue but once you're in the food arrives very fast. Overall... I love this place.
Get ready to queue, but enjoy watching the guys making roti through the window as you wait.
Don't get shocked by the line outside if you are in twos they can probably seat you easier which means they'll take you out of the queue directly to your table after 5 min!
There’s almost always a line , come in before rush hour. Also no substitutions in any of the dishes
Roti specialities( dessert ones included) and delicious satay
The roti is great, as are the lamb and chicken curries .
Roti...just put it in my face. DELICIOUS. Worth the wait...just be mentally prepared for queuing and bring good company :)
The best malaysian I've had in Australia. They listened to me and are coming to melb. This will save me $$$ on flights. Try the lamb Nasi lemak and tea Tarik
Ridiculously good roti from @mamakrestaurant. Be ready to queue up no matter what time you go because you will be queueing up and I promise it won't be short .
I am doomed. Now that I have found Mamak's banana roti with ice-cream (roti pisang ) I am doomed to fatness. And my wife is doomed to a life with a fat husband for as long as my... http://urbns.pn/3cAB
Highly recommend the sambal prawns and slow cooked lamb curry ! Perfectly compliment Mamak's signature roti canai .
Avoid Friday nights if you are really hungry :) Best hit up the Chinatown markets (or get one of your friends to grab you something!)
Loved their roti - I had the one with lamb . Tasty.
Everything is good here! A long line though, but it did move at a decent pace.
Sydney cult favorite with another in Chatswood. You'll queue but it's worth it. Roti 's light and fluffy and they serve Milo with canned milk . Oh Malaysia, I miss you
Roti canai , mee goreng (not the maggi noodle one) and sambal sotong
Worth waiting in the queue (often it moves fairly quickly too). The roti is delicious
The Roti is a must as is the satay .
Opening another restaurant in Chatswood in November 2010! Follow @eatstreetSYD on twitter for updates! Oh yea and try the Milo with condensed milk - just like in Malaysia. Totally worth the wait
The best authentic Malaysian food in Sydney!! I luv Roti Canai , Mee Goreng , Stay Chicken , Roti Tisu with ice-cream, Teh Tarik Tea -- So Yummy!! -- :)
The spicy lamb curry and the satay chicken skewers are great!
Roti , fried chicken , or satay are all a good start, but it's all pretty good.
Choose some typical Malaysian Food and you will be satisfied!!
Everything about this place is good. Taste, speed, roti , limau ais, and dfntly try the tea with milk .
Long lines but it moves fast. Watch them make fresh roti . Delicious food all around!
Vegetarian option but limited, tried the nasi lemak with vegetables . The sambal that comes with the rice has fish in it.
Great roti ! Nasi lemak is authentic , but roti is awesome and a better deal.
Get there just before 5:30 so you get a table straight away. Check out the dessert roti !
Indomie Goreng Lobster is the special getting all the plaudits and soon to be a regular fixture on the menu. Great flavours and lots of lobster meat. Inchi Kabin (Nyonya chicken) was great too. - Paul Farrell
